Disney's Peter Pan and Wendy from David Lowry

I hated Pan!

After seeing Jungle Book/Cinderella, I hope Disney delivers with this one! I can't wait for it!

If they are going to do Peter Pan, I'd rather they do something different than just an adaptation of the same story again. Spielberg had the right idea with Hook, even though the final results were rather mediocre.

A film adaptation of Peter Pan in Scarlet is something I could get behind.

But in general, yeah, the character has been overdone.

I think they kinda learned their lesson with Prince of Persia. There are a lot more prevalent Indian/Middle Eastern actors running around Hollywood now.

Given the fact that it's been more than a year since this was announced and that Pete's Dragon was a bomb, I doubt they want to work with Lowrey again and that this was quietly cancelled. I hope so. They're on a remake frenzy but nobody cares about this IP anymore. It's just putting money into a furnace.

Is Tiger Lily gonna be omitted or are they actually going to be accurate about Native Americans?

How many times are they going to try to make Peter Pan happen before realizing no one cares about Peter Pan anymore?

I care about Peter Pan. I have a first edition copy of Peter and Wendy. Plus the other Peter Pan movie (not Pan) was pretty good.

It's gonna be for Disney+, not theaters.

We don't know yet. Could go either way. Also, still banking on Kelsey Grammar for Hook.
I love Kelsey Grammer and I don't care if he just plays angry Fraiser with a hook for a hand.

Casting a middle eastern boy as Pan is interesting. I guess where he comes from isn't pertinent to the story, although I'm having a little trouble picturing this kid in the classic outfit. Actually, the animated version was older/taller, so it might have more to do with that. Maybe he'll get a growth spurt between now and filming?

I think there's an audience for Peter Pan if it resembles the animated Disney Peter Pan.

I don't see how you can tell this story better in live-action than the 2003 film. It's underrated.

Same! Joaquin Phoenix is just a horrible choice and I can't see that for Disney's version of Hook. That take's supposed to be more comedic.

Seems like Disney didn’t have enough money to pay for Phoenix and his cow ranch.
