Mindless...the film was about someone having to become the thing that he and much of his kind hated and/or just disregarded as lesser beings, the action in the second half of the film is about the main character going from selfishly acting only in his own interests to coming to accept that there were more problems going on right now than his own, and selflessly helping someone else achieve their goal to help an entire race to be left with hope of having his problem resolved later...the final shot is one of the most moving I've ever seen.

Comparing it to a parody of anything, and especially comparing it to freaking Transformers is shortsighted to say the least.

Agreed, I freaking loved the TF movies, but they were simply nothing compared to District 9 which had more layers in one scene than Transformers 2 had in the whole movie.

This is a definity Blu-ray purchase for me, I wouldnt miss it on BD for the world!

not enough people talk about this movie. yes it didnt change how movies are made. but it was a good story with a good acting.

ahh, i wanted the box art to be like this and have it say something like Only Humans can watch this or Non-Humans must see!!

a cover must be attractive for the consumer. it can not be to simple .

^^ "fookin" awesome box art. :awesome:

anyways i just saw it, 9/10, i had few problems, like, Wikus accent and the "Species intercourse" (i just get disgusted by thinking about it) and the black guys eating prawns(which is ****ed up)......but putting that aside i thought this movie was pure genius, loved it, cant wait for sequel.

ok well it can still be for a steelbook version or atleast for the bluray make a cover slide with that art

It looks like the bottom quote on the DVD package says "IT WILL BOW YOUR MIND"

Finally got to see D9 and i’ve gotta say, it’s an absolute gem.It was really refreshing to see a gritty scifi film that actually entertained me and had so much to say as well.

Wikus finds himself in an impossible situtation and the journey he and Christopher make, the things they encounter and the choices were they're forced to make are very captivating.

Besides a random cameo role from Moesha's dad (:o) i didn't know any of the cast and i think that that helps to get immersed in the story.Sharlto Copley's performance was stunning and it's amazing to think that this was his feature film debut!

The effects, camera work and action were very impressive too and that for 30 million dollars!Neill Blomkamp has (hopefully) got quite a future ahead of him.

9/10
