Yeah....D9 game for PS3? wth?

Looks to be Spider-Man font on the back, where it says Special Features and Specifications.

My vote goes toward fan-made as well.

your right it does, and notice on the bottom of the cover it doesn't have the EW quote

4 days after christmas? wtf, why not the tuesday before christmas while theres a mad dash for people to buy crap?

You do realize a good week or two after Christmas the stores are just as packed with people trying to return gifts, this happens like clockwork every year.

It may have been better to put it out before Christmas of course, but this won't hurt it that much at all. You get people returning stuff they got that they didn't like or got someone that already had it and the get money or credit back. There's no saying with that money they won't wander around the store to try to get something else.

Simply cant wait for this movie on blu-ray, my favourite movie of the year and the end sequences will be stunning on blu-ray.

do you see the i-mocap suits?

Nope. That's what pissed me off because i really wanted to see how they handled it. Interestingly , WETA did do some shots. Although the bulk was done by another VFX studio ( i forgot the name) , WETA was responsible for the mecha shots.

SOmehow they managed to squeeze that into their schedule because Avatar really had them booked

Well, watching this movie was like being in a rollercoaster of appreciaton for me. When it was good, it was VERY good. Interesting, original, refreshing, funny. Especially the first half. But when it was bad, it was pretty bad. This noticeably occurs in the second half, when some of the movie's balls are lost in taking the cliché route. I was especially annoyed by the boring army guy who just wouldn't die, that way he kept providing these boring, predictable scenes and did all the bad-guy things to do. The movie was going down such an original path and the sudden clichés were jarring. Not everything about the second part is bad though; It was a man-on-the-run-movie with a delightfully ****ed up twist. The Alien-claw, odd weaponry and (admittedly stereotype) Nigerian voodoo practices were awesome, original images. Also, Van de Merwe and Christopher Johnson make for a borderline-hilarious action-movie duo. When they entered the testing base wielding Space Guns I couldn't help but smirk at this completely-out-there scenario. Best thing about the movie is the lead character, his transition is a pretty wild (and extremely unpredicatable and surprising) one, but Copley's performance makes it entirely believable. So yeah, overall I must say this movie is very much worth watching. It's unique. That counts for something.

they mention how they avoided cloth simulation because its expensive. so you see? yes the effects are fantastic.f.... incredible but lets not say again that D9 was cheaper then other movies and looked better.. other movies have actually a lot of cloth simulations and tons of other expensive effects.

I would say though that the effects in D9 were astonishing, especially when it came to mechanical things like the ship, command module and battle suit. It was only the aliens that OCCASIONALLY (and I mean occasionally, as in once or twice) didnt look photo-realistic, everything else was superb .

the big ship was done by WETA. the robot suit by image-engine. they are good with that stuff. they did a lot of car commercials.

Neill Blomkamp directed this citroen commercial that everyone knows.
