Django Unchained

I honestly think Christoph Waltz is going to be the one to get the most praise from this film.

I can see that happening. Wasn't his role written with him in mind anyway?

It had to have been. I couldn't read anyone else in the role when I read the script. If it had been anyone else, I don't think the role could have worked. I honestly read Will Smith in the role of Django, especially in his dialogue between him and Samuel L's character, so I'm hugely disappointed he turned it down.

It's good, but I wouldn't expect much support for it come Oscar time. The material is just too controversial.

At best, I see it polarizing audiences/critics. You're either going to love it or hate it.

Great to hear. As long as it's good, I don't care. Tarantino knows what he's getting into with this movie, anyway.

Dr. King Schultz is just the coolest name ever.

I wonder if he chose that name as a nod to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

It's been out there for quite a while now.

Halle Berry has an oscar too.

Did that make her the best actress for Storm or Catwoman?

so you´ve seen django unchained already ?

there is a saying that you can make a bad movie from a good script but never good movie from a bad script. i think its fair to say that catwoman was crap material, not counting that directing and editing is also a big factor for the endresult .. but halle berry is certainly capable of a good performance ... as is mr. foxx

Just because someone has an oscar doesn't mean they're suited for any role.

And Halle Berry was a horrible Storm. Too timid and mousy to play a strong matriarch of powerful superheroes.

Jamie Foxx looks cross eyed and buck toothed. Why would you cast him to be a stoic bad ass. You might as well cast Adam Sandler as Aldo Raine.

Tarantino doesn't cast normally, as I said before. It's always some odd choice, like Eli Roth who you would never think could do a decent acting job, yet he did.

Does Tarantino even care about Oscars?

Will Smith pissed me off too when he turned it down. He's too safe with his movie choices, and it's frustrating because he's one of the most talented actors.

What the hell does Halle Berry have to do with Jamie Fox?

Jamie Foxx can do a great job. He's proven to be a very good actor, and Tarantino can get great performances out of all his actors.

Also, Adam Sandler was supposed to be the Bearjew but had scheduling conflicts with Funny People. If you don't think Sandler can act, watch Punch Drunk love.

What is this Jamie Foxx hate about? Guys a great actor, how is this deniable? Any Given Sunday, Ray, Collateral. Even The Kingdom he was decent despite a pretty weak script.

He may be a *****e in real life. He definitely released a few horribly corny RnB tracks. But the guy is a great actor and I think he'll do well with this role after reading the script.

Sandler as The Bear Jew would have been so awesome.

Well, I finished it, and I absolutely loved it. I can't wait to see how it translates to the big screen.

I know Adam Sandler can act, that's my point. Sandler may have been right for bearjew but he would've been miscast as Aldo Raine.

Just because someone can act doesn't mean they're suited for any role.

For Django they should've gotten a black actor with iconic potential not the goofy looking Jamie Foxx.

The guy who played Ray Charles perfectly doesn't have iconic potential? A guy who's had many good performances in other films.
