Do you guys like it when a major charecter is killed off in a film?

Sometimes I do, sometimes I dont...I think sometimes its not need but other times its great and brings depth to the film imo.
Its just that most off the time major charecters are killed off very stupidly.

If them dying works well with the plot or advances the plot. And it has to have an emotional impact.

I hate it when films kill off main charecters no one cares about...
Its just a waste of screen time

*cough*Godfather3*cough*

If it's done right and charactar gets justice before they die, sure Why not.
In the case of Cyclops, No.

i like incidental deaths that occur of accidents and randomness.

Sometimes it can work and other times it doesn't.
Pro X should have been kept alive longer, the battle between him and Jean could have been a greating ending

Sometimes. I didn't like it when Nancy was killed off in "A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors", that pissed me off big time.

It Depends on the death. Usually if it's well thought out, contributes to the plot, and has emotional impact I like it. But if they just randomly kill off someone just for kicks. THEN it angers me

****ing son of a *****, I shouldn't have read the spoilers in this thread.

Sometimes.
It depends on which movie and which main character.

I don't overly care for it, but sometimes it seems to be necessary to further a storyline so the primary character can come of age.

If it's them dying in a heroic situation, hell yes. That s**t is inspiring.

Sometimes good if it was honorable like Braveheart for example. But then its bad when it happens for no reason at all- Layer Cake.

LOL! You didnt get the movie. LMAO!

as the majority here have said, it all depends on the situation and the character...

Optimus Prime greatest movie death ever!

Why do I have a feeling Bambi's mother's death will have more emotional impact than any death in X3. :(

I agree with whats being said, it depends on the situation. For example I liked the directors cut ending of the Butterly Effect more than the one shown in theaters it fits more with the tone of the movie.

If the character has gone as far as it can go, and if it can add to the film's power, yes.

Depends.

If they're killed off like like *that*, cough
Cyclops
cough, then no.

However, if killed off like
Cpt. John Miller
, I'm not as upset.
