Sequels unfairly killing off their characters

also alien 3 was the worst having everyone dead at the very beggining . it was dissapointing .

..Wait... WHAT?! PATRICK BATEMAN BITES IT IN AMERICAN PSYCHO 2?! As in, near the beginning? He's not the main character!?!?!

yeah that definately sucked . i hate when character are replaced it stands out too much .
Especially when it's such a step down in talent. I'm not saying Patricia Arquette is some amazing thespian or the the NoES movies needed great actors, but her replacement should have died within the opening credits with how bad she was.

Yep, and Mila Kunis, Jackie from That 70's Show, becomes the new psycho.

it doesnt show it , i dont even remember it being mentioned.

It's more implied, but I believe it is mentioned Bateman was found dead at some point in the course of the film. Of course alot of people dismiss the movie as an official sequel since it was so unmemorable.

Maybe; Jack from Pitch Black, well the girl who was a boy,but really a girl :) she died in Riddick.

I thought they made it clear that she was a girl in Riddick. She just cut her hair to be like Riddick. I dunno.

Trinity in Matrix:Revolutions,I understood why Neo was killed off,but not trinity..

Trinity had a better death in Reloaded. Morpheus should've been the one to sacrifice their life for Neo, not Trinity.

Funny how the worst death scenes are in horror movies, right?

Killing Laurie Strode and Nancy in the Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street sequels was more than just a let down. Especially Laurie. Loomis made sense, as the actual actor died too. Nancy seemed a little out of place and pointless...not to mention the effects where the dead father comes in was kind of lack luster compared to most of the effects, lol...

Anyone else annoyed by Kraven's death in Underworld: Evolution, though? I mean, he was essential in hte original, and then in the original he doesn't even do anything, and fifteen minutes into the movie his head's ripped off...wow...

Here's another one...

After all the trouble that the kids go to in finding their lost parents in The Ewok Adventure (1984), the parents are killed off right in the beginning of Ewoks: The Battle for Endor (1985).

Yet another reason to hate George Lucas. :cmad:

There's 2 Ewok movies?

Two Ewok movies...? What was the world coming to when they actually made the first one?!

johnny cage dying mortal kombat 2 ... the rest of the movie also sucked.

The Bourne Supremacy: Franka Potente gets shot in the head. Her character didn't even die in the book! Not only that but she was supposed to be in Ultatium(sp?). I hated seeing her exit the film so quickly.

X-men 3: One of the biggest WTH moments of 2006. Cyclops getting his not even 30 minutes into the movie. Ratner I salute you again with...WHAT THE HELL?!

Can't think of any others right now...

yeah, that was the only thing that ticked me off about Bourne franchise, killing off Franka's character. its not like she was a bad actress :whatever:

and yeah Cyclops... although i saw it coming since the second film, withSinger shafting the character in favor of Wolverine. :down

Patrick Bateman, though I've never seen American Psycho 2.
i could only sit through the first 10 min of the film, but i thought that this was only loosely related to the first one? i remember the girl started killing people already without a mention of Bateman.

Count. Dooku. :csad:
it had to be done man, only two there are, a Master and an Apprentice.

Once Sarah Michelle Gellar's character died in the Grudge 2 that was a wrap for the franchise. Not to mention everything else that made that movie horrible.

Eddie Brock in "Spider-Man 3". I know about and understand the story reasons for doing so (addictions to power, control, etc.), but that part of the film just felt a tiny bit flat. I mean, Venom was underused to begin with (shame on Avi Arad for pressuring Raimi), and while I like the film's version of the character, his death just seemed rather forced. In my opinion, Marvel should have included Eddie in the film, but saved Venom for a future sequel (maybe featuring the church transformation right before the credits).
Exactly what I think.
I'm fearing for Marion in Indy 4 :csad:
They wouldn't do that. Elsa died because she needed to die for that scene where Indy's dad finally says "Indiana".

1) Marion is in Indy IV? WHAT? And if they kill her off, I'll be pissed off enough to hate the movie.

3) The reason they did not shoot Spidey 3/4 back-to-back was that the actors and director were only contracted for one more movie. To do 4 would have needed negotiation which would have cost time and if they had become so desperate to get them back for part 4 (which would have been the case for a back-to-back shoot), Sony would have no high ground and have to pay more on the actors's sides than their own. Also, there is a trend in studios to think to not let plot threads linger more than three movies as not to upset moviegoers. Besides, it got Venom out of the way and left room for better villains in SM4 (the last sentence is just my opinion).
You haven't been up on your Indy IV news have you? It's been announced since comic-con.
Better villians than Venom that haven't already been used? WTF?

He had to die.

Tell that to Lucas and everybody behind the next Star Wars game. :o

All due respect to Christopher Lee, but I never really liked Dooku. He seemed more like a plot device, not a ex-Jedi turned notorious Sith Lord. And for being so significant in the formation of the Empire, his death sure was crappy/quick.

Yes I know it had to be done (and he had a spectacular death scene)....but so early in the movie?

there was alot of death to be had in that film .. its better he was offed in the beginning , it seemed significant. it does seem silly that the emporer would allow his top guy to be killed off without having a new apprentice.

Um HELLO!

Tremors 3!
