  • Yes, but only to complete my collection of two-disc SE Batman films

  • Yes, but only because it came with the anthology

  • No, but I'll get it eventually

  • No, I own the anthology but burned that monstrosity

No poll is perfect. VHS is irrelevant nowadays. Just vote #1 or #4.

Since there are still plenty more movies out on VHS than are on DVD....then I wouldn't call tape irrelevant.

I am not ashamed to say i own it on dvd
it's still a batman movie god damn it

Finding non-used VHS tapes is impossible nowadays. They just aren't around anymore. Hence irrelevant. Yes, B&R is not a new film but it is hardly instinct for people who live in the now to think VHS when they think of owning a film. It seems illogical to even acknowledge them at this point, as the second string of DVD (HD/Blu-Ray is coming out). Nobody talks about tapes anymore in reference to music, CD's are the norm.

There are some Batman 89, BR, BF and even B&R VHS on ebay.

My brother likes it so I bought it for him. It's fun to watch and destroy it. It makes him laugh.

I recently gave my old DVD set to buy the new one. I guess the fourth part is a poisoned gift, per se...hehe!

My brother was watching it last night....I watched a little of it with him just to laugh at how bad it is lol.

I've only got it on VHS so I can't take part in the poll. The only reason I have it is because my Mum knew I like Batman.

First....I think you need to realize that not all the people who post here are teenagers....some of us have been around for a while.

I've been collecting tapes since the early 80's. I have many movies on tape that have not been put out on DVD yet. So....they are not irrelevant to me (and if you continue to read many threads on this site, you will see that others feel the same way). Just because something isn't easy to get, it doesn't make them impossible to find.

Many of the old tapes have "macrovision" which keep you from transferring them to DVD....so, until they are put on DVD by the studios, the tapes are still needed. Does this mean that I prefer tape to DVDs....absolutely not. I just accept the fact that if I want to rewatch some movies, I need to do it with tape.

^ Well said C...

I got my copies of the Batman films originally on VHS and loved watching them. I mean who can resist the "Warner Brothers" Ballcap ad in the B89 tape...or in this case the "Kids WB Superheroes" ad in the "B&R" tape.

Sure I no longer have them...I upgraded to the initial bare bones DVD releases and then upgraded again for the SE DVDs...but I still remember...and it's always fun to remember.

I have the Indiana Jones films as well as THX & Jurassic Park on VHS, never been viewed or taken out of box. No clue why though:oldrazz:

I still have Danny Elfman's Batman 1989 Soundtrack in a vinyl LP incarnation. :hyper:

Anthology. I actually watched part of it too. It almost killed me.

I own Batman & Robin on 15 different formats including the extremely rare Japanese Ultra DVD edition made completely out of diamonds and 14 karat gold. I would sell it but I'm just too much of a Bat-fanatic to part with it.

I do have it unfortunately, but only because I got the anthology DVD. I only watched it once or twice to be honest.

I've seen Batman & Robin a lot of times. I find it very easy to watch.

i know, same here. i dont get why some ppl hate it SO bad. i mean, its not like it doesnt have ANY enjoyable moments, it certainly does. yeah we like batman dark, well we have him dark again so now i think we can admit that B&R is not THAT bad. i actually found it very entertaining to watch, action was senseless but kinda enjoyable because its just so over the top. hey, its better then LACK of action.

Believe it or not, I found the Elfman soundtrack right in goodwill once for $2.:wow:

i have both B89 and Returns soundtracks. THEY ARE BOTH BRILLIANT. amazing work, especially on the Returns soundtrack. i have been listening to the Returns sopundtrack alot lately, i just love it. very deep, whimsical, emotional, love it.

With Elfman, we can capture the feel of the movie quite instantaneously, and get a heck of an atmosphere! The Returns one is just beautiful, very absorbing, when I listen to it, I can relax or really take care to LISTEN to music, not just HEAR... That's a good point about Elfman, you actually CARE for his music. Others can have credits at some points, but concerning Danny Elfman's music : nobody does it better
