A Hulk remake? I say no, the Hulk(2003) was awesome. How could it have been better? They should just go on and make Hulk 2 which would be set after the Hulk(2003). Remaking Hulk would kill it.

I'm with you all the way!! HELL no!

My apologies to the madam then, but how can you only count domestic, internationl take matters as well.

thats what studio cares most about, Hulk was only 5 mill of its budget anyway.

Thats just stupid, DVD sales are also a big factor for all movies now and even in 2003.

Hulk made Universal money, alot actually.

True, but it didn't live up to its potential.

I don't care if the first Hulk movie didn't entirely live up to it's potential. It didn't loose potential, which is why they should go ahead with a real sequel for it. The first movie had an excellent cast and did a good enough job setting the stage for a bigger and better sequel, so I would personally be very PO'd if they tried to scrap everything and start over.

I don't know why I keep responding to some of you people but "Hulk" was not a success in any way shape or form. If it was a sequel would be shooting for a 2006 release dates because most big blockbusters sequels would have started some type of real delvelopement by now and all I hear is a an old man and a company calling people stupid for not liking the first one.

who the hell was calling people stupid for not liking it?... Hulk was a success for Marvel (its was a HUGE success actually) and although it didnt make them Spidey numbers, it still made a profit for Universal, small, yet still a profit.

Okay if Hulk was such a huge success why didn't Universal rush a sequel into developement?

X2 came out 3 years after the first
Spidey 2 came out 2 years after the first
A Batman Begins sequel is coming out in 2008 and FF2 is coming in 07.

Why isn't a Hulk sequel coming out? it's only been talked about endlessly and nothing has materialized.

To even say that this movie was even slightly successful is to lie or ignore the truth. Hell, I remember that right after the movie flopped Universal denied reports that a sequel was in the works.

No Hulk fan has been able to tell me why a sequel hasn't come out if the movie was so huge.

BTW:I do not call this movie a flop because it didn't do Spider-Man numbers, I called it a flop because it didn't make back it's huge budget and it had an awful 70% drop in it's second weekend and ending with a 2.2 multiplier.

And to answer your question: I've seen many people called names for not liking the movie on these very boards and Avi and Ang Lee seem to indicate that people weren't smart enough to digest the film.

Hulk had a budget of 137 million, and made 225 million internationally, 132 million of which was from the US. It wasn't a blistering smash hit, but it was still successful.

If they actually chose to re-start the series rather than do a more accessable sequel, I can garuntee you that it would be a flop. At least with Batman Begins they waited 16 years after the first "introductory" Batman flick before making it.

Hulk sequel isnt being made because all the bad word of mouth, not the final box office. The bad word of mouth is Universal's fault and also Ang's. Avi knows that the first movie was trageted towards kids, and you know that this type of movie wont make them go crazy and want to watch it again. Which is what Avi was saying, they went too much into the Psychological crap and lost the kids. the Work print leak didnt help either. THey went too much into the Psycholigical crap full stop. THe movie wasnt the best, it was what was advertised and it sure as hell wasnt what people wanted from a Hulk movie.

You nailed it buddy. People around here seem to be in denial. Universal knew after that atrotious opening weekend box office (around 65 million) that their tentpole summer movie had flopped. Nobody is using the word flop (in Hollywood) because of their pride......

thats f**king stupid, Hulk had a great opening when you think about the time of year they released it. June is a s**t month to release a film, Hulk's opening is one of the best ever in June. Actually, its only beaten buy Harry pot head. You can talk all you want about what people expected it to open in, but calling a 65mill weekend a flop is ******ed.

How can the Hulk be a flop when it made the studio money? Catwoman was a flop, The Island was a flop, Hulk wasnt. No one around here has ever called it a resounding success at the B.O, but you guys go too over the top calling it a disaster when it clearly wasnt.

Most movie's make the studio's money, doesn't that mean that almost every movie is a hit?

So your telling me that if Spiderman, LOTR had opened up in June it wouldn't have done great? I don't think so!

Everybody seems to be forgetting that Hulk is an internationally recognized icon like Spiderman or Superman. You can't go anywhere on this planet, where they either have a television set, or sell comic books, and show someone a picture of Hulk and they not know who is is. The fact of the matter is that because of the leaked work print, like you mentioned before, people got the heads-up of the horror that Universal had concocted.
From the premier of the teaser that aired with Spidey 1, people were hyped for this movie. The trailer, with Banner stearing in the mirror, then Hulking out, was awesome..and people couldn't wait for it to come out. It was when the superbowl trailer aired, that **** started heading downhill. I don't know exactly what it was, but people got the hunch that this movie was not gonna be great. I don't fully understand it myself. The CGi was not that bad in the trailer, i've seen worse, but peoples instincts started taking over..and well, you see how it turned out by the lackluster B.O.:(

I'd like to further add that, i'm sure some heads at Universals advertising department rolled the Monday after the opening weekend, as they did a real ****ty job in marketing this movie. From the god aweful American trailer (which sucked in comparison to the international one), to this terrible picture of Hulk for the cover of Entertainment Weekly...

..now if anybody had any doubts about seeing this movie, after seeing this pic, i'm sure it sealed the deal for them!

Then to add insult to injury, they give us this cheap rendition of the original poster for the dvd cover..

..instead of this one
hulk_dvd_2d._210jpg.jpg

it's like universal just didn't give a ****!

If the first Hulk was "Alien", then the sequel should be "Aliens". Bigger, faster, louder, funner, pretty much everything. If they choose to scrap continuity completely and "start over", then I garuntee you that another Hulk movie is going to be on the backburner for at least six more years (and even that is being extremely optimistic-- 10 would be more realistic). I say, give Hulk a second chance with a director who's better with "fun" movies, and not cave into the idea that no-one liked it.

No see this is were your making a mistake, our argument has never been that this movie was a hit because it wasnt, but it was no were near a flop or disaster that you claim it to be. I have never called the movie a hit as far as B.O is concerned, and as far as i can remember no one else on this board has ever called it a box office hit either.
