Yes I really think they shoud have a remake it didn't even have a movie villain unless you count that fight at the end and the Gamma dog and other then that I don't see no pilot in that movie it suck I hated it and it snucked.

If the first Hulk was "Alien", then the sequel should be "Aliens". Bigger, faster, louder, funner, pretty much everything. If they choose to scrap continuity completely and "start over", then I garuntee you that another Hulk movie is going to be on the backburner for at least six more years (and even that is being extremely optimistic-- 10 would be more realistic). I say, give Hulk a second chance with a director who's better with "fun" movies, and not cave into the idea that no-one liked it.

Totally agree, marvel will be ****ing up big time if they re-make the Hulk imo.

So your telling me that if Spiderman, LOTR had opened up in June it wouldn't have done great? I don't think so!

Everybody seems to be forgetting that Hulk is an internationally recognized icon like Spiderman or Superman. You can't go anywhere on this planet, where they either have a television set, or sell comic books, and show someone a picture of Hulk and they not know who is is. The fact of the matter is that because of the leaked work print, like you mentioned before, people got the heads-up of the horror that Universal had concocted.
From the premier of the teaser that aired with Spidey 1, people were hyped for this movie. The trailer, with Banner stearing in the mirror, then Hulking out, was awesome..and people couldn't wait for it to come out. It was when the superbowl trailer aired, that **** started heading downhill. I don't know exactly what it was, but people got the hunch that this movie was not gonna be great. I don't fully understand it myself. The CGi was not that bad in the trailer, i've seen worse, but peoples instincts started taking over..and well, you see how it turned out by the lackluster B.O.:(
come on, LOTR and Spidey have nearly double Hulk's fanbase, plus non of these films were ripped to shreds before they were out, plus both of them had great marketing. Non of them have leaked workprints on the net weeks before the film was out, non of them had ******s reviewing the unfinished work. Personally, i was expecting it to open at 80mill, but 65mill is no flop, even for a shyte month like June, it was good. Universal seem to go out of their way to f**k this movie up.

I'd like to further add that, i'm sure some heads at Universals advertising department rolled the Monday after the opening weekend, as they did a real ****ty job in marketing this movie. From the god aweful American trailer (which sucked in comparison to the international one), to this terrible picture of Hulk for the cover of Entertainment Weekly...

..now if anybody had any doubts about seeing this movie, after seeing this pic, i'm sure it sealed the deal for them!

Then to add insult to injury, they give us this cheap rendition of the original poster for the dvd cover..

..instead of this one

it's like universal just didn't give a ****!
i f**king hate that cover of EW, the Hulk looks like shyte.

He's not TOO bad...but CERTAINLY not the best!! T_T

Since they've already made the first one, they should go on, it's pointless to make a remake of a remake

Exactly, but seemingly Marvel dont see it that way and as of now that is what we are getting.

Maybe

We all know the origin now so they don't need to start from scratch there. They can go thorugh the origin during the opening credits like they did for the Blade Sequels. I liked that and then it gets right to the action.

You can still start from scratch without spending the whole movie on the origin.

Everyone knows the Hulk origin anyway.

Looks like bana's not coming back. http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=23760 WE'RE GETTING A REMAKE. And it's completely unnecessary... Hulk wasn't a bad movie, and it's not like it changed much more than most adaptations like it do... the fan backlash was blown way too far out of perspective, I think. they'll probably save money by hiring Lou Ferigno (i don't care how it's spelled)

Nah they are just using the same article that was posted already in the thread. They are just re-reporting it. Doesn't mean the source's info is 100% fact. At no point does anyone at AICN backup the story with their own scoopers. They are just posting it.

Sequel > Remake

I absolutely hate this idea of a reboot. :o

I really liked Hulk and after watching it a few times on DVD really got into it.

I'd say no to a remake.

It is definately a movie that improves over multiple viewings, if only more people could see that.

Apart from the fact the idea of them remaking was born from some fans reading alittle much into a small comment from Avi. That when read into that way clashes with everything we've heard upto now.
There's not gonna be another origin. The film will just have a different lighter tone to it. I think thats all Avi meant. Some website will get in contact with Avi and clarify what he meant. Hopefully sooner rather than later. :marv:

I'm freaking with YOU, man!!

I feel that remaking a movie thats barely 3 years old and went deeper in to the origin that any comic book movie to date is crazy. There's no need for it.The ending of movie 1 is the perfect start for the second one.

I don't think there gonna spend more that 10 minutes on the origin recap. There's now way they're gonna rehash an origin. They just need to use the end of part 1 to set up why The Hulk and maybe even Banner looks different and go from there...or don't address it at all restart the whole story but don't do an origin film. We all know the origin.

Banner looked exactly the same at the end of the first movie, people are not stupid, they will notice.

Personally, I wrote a Hulk fanfic sequel a couple of years ago... and what I would have had done is we open in the jungle. We see Hulk hulk out. Some innocent people die as a result- Bruce is devestated. We find out that months have gone by and that Banner is still trying to hide from the world, he finally says "I can't hide forever. I need to find a cure." Thus, he goes back to the city to find a cure and this would lead to lots of awesome action scenes and the villain would result from somebody seemingly wanting to "cure" Banner, but instead his real plans are to use this found information on himself. Thus, ending in a HUGE battle between Hulk and a psychologically and physically interesting villain.
