I know I do. I think that before the Crisis, he was reaching his full potential. There's PLENTY more that can be done with him, and I really want to see more of Linda and the kids. I hoping that this "new" Flash is the same with the "new" Wonder Woman, it's still Diana so hopefully it's still Wally! I mean he was green eyes after all....

What do you guys say? :(

Bart should get the mantle... just not yet... theres way too much too be done with Wally yet...

I wouldn't mind Wally retiring on a high note, so no, I want someone else to take over the mantle.

I agree

How many years did Barry have before it was passed on to Wally?

I have absolutely no interest in seeing a new Flash.

Exactly what I mean. :( They got rid of Wally right when he was reaching his full capabilities. I like Bart, but I just don't want him having the name or mantle just yet.

I don't mind Bart as Flash or anything, and sure it's nice to see Wally retiring on his own terms and all, but it all seem quite premature.

30 years.

Right, and Wally got to be the Flash for 20.

Indeed. I mean, I like Bart and all, but he's not the Flash for me.

I think a lot of people thought the same when Wally took over, and look how that turned out.

I'm really glad we all see eye to eye on this subject. Wally still is The Flash, lets fact it. I mean, I was looking forward to see how he'd still manage to fight crime and take of the kids as the same time.

You miss the part where I think Wally deserves his retirement?

You don't think that. You think Wally should stay as Flash.

I know what you mean, and I'm sure that I'd get used to Bart as the Flash in a few years, just as those fans eventually got used to Wally in the suit instead of Barry, but my initial impression is still that Wally is the Flash for me.

Sorry Leag, the Jedi mind-tricks don't work on me.

I think Bart has the potential to be a great Flash, and I'm just a big sucker for a good ending. Barry died saving the universe while Wally retires with Linda and the twins. It's fitting and feels right.

It's not a Jedi mind-trick, I'm just telling the truth.

I meant to say "glad some of us see eye to eye." :D

I just can't help but think that the hint of "The Flash in the last page of the first issue, is someone new," actually means it's Wally just slightly different than he was before the Crisis.

I can't wait to find out for sure. :(

It's all in what you get used to when you start in comics. To me Wally never really was the Flash. It was Barry or Jay. I wonder if you ever really get used to someone new?

I got used to Kyle as the new Green Lantern, Tim Drake as the new Robin, Connor Hawke as the new Green Arrow, Cassandra Cain as the new Batgirl, Pieter Cross as the new Dr. Mid-Nite, Michael Holt as the new Mr. Terrific, the android Tyler as the new Hourman, Rick Tyler as the new Hourman (for the second time) after him, Johnny Thunder as a part of the new Thunderbolt, etc. Granted, I wasn't really attached to many of the previous bearers of those mantles beforehand, but of the four I did know (GL, GA, Batgirl, and Robin), I came to like the more recent bearers as much as or more than the previous ones. Kyle's a better GL to me than Hal ever was, likely because the stakes tend to get higher as time goes on and Kyle weathered the storm better than Hal could, Connor's about even with Ollie for me, Cassandra far exceeds Babs as Batgirl (though Babs got herself a nice, new niche as Oracle that she's done quite well with), and Tim's better than Dick and way better than Jason in the areas that count for me.

In the Flash's case, however, I just think there's a hell of a lot more stories that could've been told with Wally before he really needed retiring. His story feels unfinished to me. Being happy with Linda and the kids wasn't an end to me, it was a beginning of a new and interesting chapter in Wally's life that I, for one, would've loved to follow. Who knows, maybe I'll still get the chance. I'll find out in about 2 weeks, I guess.

And as always, I agree with the Corpster. :)

Well said man, well said.
