Pretty straight forward, with Laurel becoming worse than ever, I figured this poll would be... Appropriate.

She doesn't need to be killed off. She just needs to disappear from Ollie's life, and under no circumstances should she take over as Black Canary.

A lot of people say she's the Lana Lang of Arrow, but she may be the opposite. In the beginning of Smallville Lana was likable then she gradually became beyond annoying. Laurel may go the opposite direction, starting of as a major b**** then gradually become a liked character as seasons go on.

That is possible, though I've never really heard of a situation like that before and I would think that it'd be a hard route to go through since I'd bet very few would be willing to give any character that started out that much hated a chance to get better.

That might have worked with Season 1 Laurel. But we are only 2 Episodes into Season 2, and we already have her lead a completely illogical campaign against the Hood, and in Episode 5 she'll try to send Oliver's mom to death row.

How the hell do you redeem a person like that, to the point she becomes the most prominent female hero, the hero's best love interest, and overall a well liked character of the Arrow cast?

Yeah but how could be with someone who is trying to get your ma the death penalty, at this rate even if they do end up Together it will just be Totally unbelievable and stupid

I think her sister being may help her character lose some of the obvious hate she has pent up. It will also help Oliver and Officer Lance. Her sister being alive and vigilante and dying (again), but because of her crusade against "The Hood". It being her fault and not able to place blame on anyone but herself may lead to her seeking redemption in a way that makes her likable. She may also try taking up the mantle of Black Canary as homage to her sister or go away for good because of the guilt, which would please most.

I'd rather have Malcolm Merlyn return and become the Hood's ally. That'd be less unbelievable than what they are doing with Laurel, with their end goal being to turn her into Black Canary and Ollie's soul mate.

^ pretty much this. It's gonna be a train wreck.

I think Laurel should be walking in the streets when the flash is using his speed for the first time. Being a rookie, he wouldn't be able to stop and would hit her, killing her or making her a cripple in the process. That way, the Flash would be the most sympathetic character of the show, which would help to jump to his pilote.

This guy gets it. Would also be a awesome intro for the flash.

I choose option D. Killing her would be a mistake. Imagine the interminable angst from Ollie! No thanks. Just make Laurel go away. Maybe onto the Flash spinoff show, since I'm not planning to watch that one.

Or make her a villain. Would be some sweet irony I think. Tommy, who had reason enough to feel betrayed and enough people assumed would turn evil, stayed a decent person. But Laurel, who everyone thinks is supposed to end up with Ollie, turns into one of his biggest adversaries.

More than ever. With her turn against Green Arrow and joining the prosecution team to put Oliver's mom on death row, I don't know how she will become the Black Canary convincingly.

That only worked for characters like Cordelia Chase in Buffy or Sharpay Evans in High School Musical because, despite being somewhat *****y characters and the antagonists of the stories, they were funnier and full of themselves. They genuinely thought the world revolved around them and weren't necessarily being mean for the sake of being mean - just that they were very self absorbed and self-centred. But both were redeemed and became more likeable, although they had likeable qualities to begin with.

LL doesn't have those funny qualities. She's either just *****y or a drama queen.

I've said in another thread that instead of Laurel taking up the mantel of BC as a homage to her sister, it should be that her sister takes up the mantel of being called "Dinah" as a homage to Laurel. That would be the most logical thing and wouldn't require a massive jump to get LL's character back on track (even though it wasn't on track to begin with). Sara Lance can just be the only BC and use her sister's middle name.

I know the producers realize that Dinah Laurel Lance will be the Black Canary, but based on what we're seeing I can see it more like Sarah taking Dinah Laurel's name rather than Dinah Laurel taking the mantle.

They killed off Brion Markov (Geo-Force) and Tommy Merlyn whom are in the comics. I'm not going to be surprised nor sad if they kill off Dinah Laurel Lance as well.

I'm concerned that if Dinah Laurel ends up becoming the Black Canary, it's going to end up in a lightswitchy and contrived way.

I know people don't like her but killing her off will be too much in my opinion. Tommy was fair game because his father was Merlyn and it helped drive Ollie towards being a hero. Killing Laurel might make him put the bow away forever.

Or it might him get back to killing villains that need killing.

Then they need to irradiate Laurel with something so that she can't possibly come near anyone without killing them. That means it wouldn't even be safe to be Black Canary.

I don't want them to kill her off, I want them to redeem her. Don't need another TWD Andrea on my tv screen. But if they have no interest in redeeming her than just have her disappear and never show up again and introduce a new Dinah Lance and let me move on.

Not kill her off, but they need to redirect her character fast. This crusade she has against Ollie makes no godamned sense and really just portrays her as an stupid, ungrateful, selfish b**** who's just looking for someone to blame for Tommy's death to mask her own guilt

Killing her off wouldn't be ideal, because then us as viewers would have to put up with Ollie mourning and being depressed over for it, when most viewers would probably breathe a sigh of relief.

We'd give Ollie all of 2 minutes to get over it before getting annoyed that he's still not over her. Her character needs to be redeemed, big time.

Don't redeem her. Acknowledge what she's got at. Acting like a giant *****. Just make her a villain.
