The Avengers Does The Avengers Create a Problem For the Marvel-verse Moving Forward?

based on what the senator in NY said at the end of the film I am expecting it

Not to mention that the World Security Council or whatever is clearly pissed off about Fury's Avenger Initiative.

A quick summary of the final scenes would be that the people love the Avengers and thank them for saving the planet and all, but the guvmint doesn't trust these superhero freaks. Sorta like the X-Men, except EVERYBODY hates/mistrusts the X-Men.

Yeah, and also what else the government might be hiding from the public.

It also has to have writers and directors of the next wave of Marvel films worried. An example would be how to keep Thor 2 on this level. Whedon also brings the Marvel Movie Universe close to the book universe in terms of powers and relationships. So, writers of those next wave of movies had better incorporate that stuff. Example: Thor better not forget how to utilize lightning in the next solo Thor film.

It's a nice problem to have for Marvel.

Eh, I get what you're saying, but I doubt there'll be a whole lot of that having to consult previous films to maintain continuity. To *some* extent, yes, but the studio isn't going to nitpick and frame-by-frame analyze everything the way we fanboys do. Take Star Trek and Star Wars, for instance --- fanboys always get up on soapboxes about continuity errors between films/TV episodes, but the creators don't give a **** about that level of anal-retentive geekdom.

Just write it into the story.

Jane Foster is tricked into going to another world and Thor rushes over to save her (No Avengers because he can't go back until he's done)

Iron Man has found out someone is using his technology to hurt people. Because of his history with people using his tech to hurt people, he decides to deal with it personally.

Captain America is asked by Nick Fury to do a top secret mission, something the Avengers are too high profile to deal with.

Done. Easy.

Outside of the confirmation of alien life forms/alternate planes, I'm not sure the events of The Avengers have much more of an impact on the world.

The Hulk, Iron Man, and Cap were already known to most of the World previous to The Avengers from what happened in their own films so the concept of superheros isn't really anything new to them.

Thor is really the only new guy on the public's radar.

It's probably already been said but, they do handle it the same way the comics do. The individual character has his own story, they make little to no mention of the team.

KF and had a plan leading up to Avengers, I'm positive they have a plan post Avengers, KF has already mentioned phase 2. I don't think it'll be a problem at all.

Stark couldn't even get Pepper to answer a phone that was two feet away. How the hell is he going to get Thor to answer his phone from Muspelheim?

:thor: :thor: :thor:

What is phone?

I dont really see the Avengers movie causing problems, I mean the separate movies allows the individual characters to grow on there own terms and the Avengers allow for a much larger threat.

Something makes me doubt that PR problems will go anywhere, especially with Stark's money and Roger's charisma to front the team a good impression. Sure, there will be people who don't trust them and don't like them, but I don't see the government sending kill squads against the Avengers.
