I understood that Rhodey is a patriot, and, with the government against Stark, he goes against him as well. And, because he chose his country and knows Stark so well, he's chosen by Senator Stern to be War Machine.

That's actually Robert Townsend. Don is sportin' blonde hair in the movie as some gang leader...very bad movie.

I don't think Rhodey comes off as a 'bad guy'. He's a soldier conflicted between his duty to his country and his friend.

Its a classic case of a man torn between his honor (to his friend) and his duty (to his government).

It doesnt make sense though. Why would they choose him to wear the suit? Shouldnt they choose their best marine or veteran instead of a desk guy?

. He knows Stark. His strenghts. His weakness. All the chinks in his armor.
. He's familiar with the technology.

PLUS, he has what some may consider an strategic advantage in that he knows Tony...who he is, his mentality, his tendencies, how he fights, etc.

Well he goes to a battle at night so maybe he gets impatient while some world event is going down and he takes the armor to intervene. I don;t knw but maybe he reluctantly takes the tech from Tony.

IM is down for a while, War Machine goes after whiplash, Whiplash handles War Machine, IM comes in to save Rhodes and then we get a double team against Whiplash.
