Nogster,
Ok, lets try this one more time, then I give up on you.
1. Lex was able to make Supes his B**** because there was a LARGE piece of K'nite in him.
2. This was some form of modified K'nite. Remember at the core of the piece that Lex put in the ocean was that crystal from the FOS. Obviously this changed the nature of the K'nite, as he was able to land on the island, and walk around a while before the effects really hit him.
3. You are completely ingoring the Messianic overtones of the character, and this movie. He sacrificed himself. HE KNEW HE WAS GOING TO DIE.
4. Like I siad before, there is a huge difference between physiological death, and psychological death. When I was in the academy, we watched real footage of cops who died both ways. One video showed a cop who took a very non-leathal shot to the upper right shoulder. All he could think about was the FACT that he was shot, not WHERE he was shot. His mind simply told him he as shot, so he should lay down and die, and he did. From a non-lethal wound. Then there is a video of a cop who was shot three times in the abdomen on a traffic stop (no vest). He got pissed off that he had been shot, and he got back into his cruiser and chased the car as it fled. The bad guy eventually stopped, the cop ran up, subdued him, arrested him, and only then called for an ambulance for himself.
See the difference between physiological death and physical death?
Now, in a way we agree. You just think that the K'nite should have had more of an immediate affect, as established in the first movie. I am saying that for some reason, THIS version of k'nite had a delayed effect, which allowed him to do what he did, as established by the fact that he could walk around on the island for a while before feeling the effects of the K'nite.
