sorry if this has already been posted... but I find it really funny....

HOLTSVILLE, N.Y. -- An audience expecting to watch a family film was stunned to get an glimpse of a horror movie, which left some parents shaken and the theater chain apologizing for the movie mix-up.

The moviegoers were expecting to see "The Last Mimzy," the PG-rated tale of a brother and sister who discover a mysterious box of toys and become endowed with superhuman powers to help preserve humanity's future.

Instead, the crowd saw the opening scene of "The Hills Have Eyes 2," the R-rated sequel to a recent remake of a 1977 horror classic by the genre's renowned director, Wes Craven. The film centers on National Guard troops who stumble on a clan of mutant cannibals and starts with a chained woman giving birth to a mutant.

"There were kids that were crying, there were people trying to cover the kids' eyes, they were caught off guard," said Anthony Rasco, who was in the audience when the scene was unexpectedly shown Thursday in one of the theaters at the Island 16 multiplex.

Another patron said the episode had left his 3-year-old son with lingering, and unsettling, questions.

"My wife is eight months pregnant, and he's been asking, 'Is that what mommy's going to have?"' said Frank Doll, 31, of Mastic.

Theater staffers soon stopped the movie, gave the patrons free ticket vouchers, and started "The Last Mimzy" about a half-hour late, according to parents.

National Amusements Inc., which operates the Island 16 and about 1,500 other movie screens in the United States and elsewhere, expressed "deepest apologies" in a statement Friday.

"We are working with our theater's managers to correct this situation and ensure that it does not happen again," said the statement from the company, based in Dedham, Mass.

Is that what mommy's going to have? XD

I swear I would have been giggling my ass off had that happened in my theatre. I'm no longer young and don't have kids, so I can't relate..ergo, it's funny to me. :o

I guy got fired from me theatre for showing the opening of Saw III during a showing of what was supposed to be The Santa Clause 3.

That made me chuckle.

I'd like to do that whole Fight Club movie reel thing. And/or Dirty Work prank.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!... oh, those poor people...

this is the website for the movie... you can see the opening scene... it's called "birth"..... you have to be 18 to watch.... age verification... so I guess it's ok to post on her,... if not, ill edit it...

Oh,I've seen it and yes it's gross.

Oh come on. I doubt that's gonna scar any of those kids for life. Who cries?

it's more gross then anything... not scary... but then again i'm 23 and have witnessed a baby coming out a vagina in real life.... actually, that scarred the hell out of me... now i'm going to go huddle in the corner...

They have to learn about the atrocities of nuclear weapons somehow right?

I have a very funny story thats sort of similar, from when I worked in the cinema.

The cinema didn't accidentally put on the wrong film. No. This was all about parents too stupid to realize they were taking their kids to a 15 rated movie. Bad Santa. Anyone here that has watched Bad Santa knows what a terrible idea it is to take your 8 year old kid to that movie. And yet, when I worked at the cinema, MANY people tried. I was working, taking tickets at the premiere of the movie. I lost count of the amount of parents I stopped, saying "um... this movie is rated 15, you know".

The worst thing is, they must have thought I was an idiot, or wrong, and most of them just plain wouldn't listen to me. "I can take my kid in there if I want". Me - "No, you can't. It's rated 15!!". In alot of cases, I decided to take them aside and actually describe scenes that I knew were in the film from what the projectionist told me. This changed their minds, but still others managed to get in with kids during the films duration at the cinema.

Alot of parents asked for refunds. Stupid bastards.

wait....wouldnt the previews be of R rated Movies....if you go see a kids film and there are R Rated previews, you know something is fishy

Wait... I thought the Last Mimzy was a horror movie.

Kids are annoying, especially in theaters.

The four morons who plopped down right in front of me at Grindhouse (in an otherwise empty theater) yesterday and proceeded to drape their feet over the seats in front of them and talk through the movie were at least 17.
Teenagers and dumbasses with cell phones have surpassed crying babies at the top of my annoyances list.
At least the babies aren't freakin' stupid and rude. It's the parents bringing them that are stupid and rude.

Well of course, teenagers are the worst. They smell bad too. Oh and they make noises when they eat.

I pity the parents that have to deal with them 24/7. Then again they asked for it.

I don't know why they don't do a little research before taking their kids to movies. I know a guy, very religious, took his kids to "Scary Movie". Lol. Dumb ass. He was so appalled.

I went to "Saw III" and the first thing I see is a baby stroller, later more people come in with children. This one guy answers his kid's question like he was at home in a regular voice. :down

I know teenagers suck.

When i went to go see the hills have eyes 2. there were about 3 or 4 of them and wouldn't just shut the hell up. they had a stupid comment about every little scene in the movie.

I felt like turning around and sayng keep it up and your gonna see some real violence.
