I can almost hear Bats saying "Suck Bat-pectoral, stupid ninja!!"

Seriously, though . . . you have a keen attention to detail, Dorky . . . but I see one fatal flaw, because it's a flaw which I share with you . . . the inks/rendering/proportion is all GREAT . . . but you've started focusing on details before the piece is really drafted . . . this can lead to serious problems if not drafted properly . . . but like I said, I do the same thing all the time . . . . I get hung up in the detail, cuz before that, I don't really see my work "coming to life" . . . . . I would recommend finishing the other figures, and giving the characters a ground before moving forward, but also like me, you'll probably not heed my advice and continue inking anyway . . . . cuz that's the fun part!

ya know . . . something I just realized is, you also may have your pencils completed, but maybe they didn't show up in the scan . . . if that's the case, disregard prior post . . . . :D

thanks DV8, you're right...i don't wait till i'm done with the basics to start on the details. i have the basic pencils down (positions, clothing, etc) but as far as like wrinkles in the clothing and other detailing, i form them when i'm inking...which is why i can never let anyone else ink my drawings because i don't put those kind of details in until my pen it.

but thanks both of yaz

i just got my new WACOM tablet today so i decided to test it out...did a sketch of Cyclops. one with his cap and without it. generic X-Men suit design...hehe

I'm normally a fan of the cap look, but the one without it is excellent.

Dorky!!

How's the work on your Sauron pic coming along? REALLY Want to see an update on that!!!

unfortunately, i haven't touched it in a while because it was on my old harddrive and it crashed on me. luckily, my sister sent me a copy on cd a while back so i have that copy...but it just sucks because there was a lot more work done to it on my harddrive than at the time my sister sent it to me. so i have to redo that work...

...but once i muster up the feel to touch it again, i'll definitely post more the progress.

awesome stuff, i really like the cyclops ones and the batman

yet another batman...i was messing around with a new art program, at the same time trying to give Bats a new look.

That Batman looks pretty creepy...harking back to the early days of detective comics and that era with a lot of horror comics. They do looks more like bat ears though.

Im diggin that Batman piece bro.And we ALL shed a tear for the LOTR piece man(Ive lost everything recently as well,)That piece was just THE MOST coolest thing on these boards for a long time.Everyone was clammoring to see the end product.Hope you muster up that courage to tackle it again,or create something new on that scale of ambition.

many thanx dude. fortunately, my roomie was able to retrieve all the data from my old harddrive and now it's on his harddrive. all i need to do is convince him to transfer all my stuff to my NEW harddrive. he's the kind of guy you need to bug 50 times before he does you a favor (kinda like me, hehe), but at least he was able to get retrieve my latest work. once i get it back on my harddrive, i'll definitely wanna tackle it again...at least get the characters done.

what new art program did you use to make that batman?

maybe if you lay off the *ahem* wacky green stuff then you'll muster up the ambition to finish it. I mean its been what...10 years now?

I'm pretty sure he used a combination of Paint and Microsoft Word.

it's called "ArtRage". it's an awesome way of making traditional art on computer....it's only $20 and they have a free trial. go check it out sometime.
