dosent it suck that both of the major comic flicks in 06 failed to hit the mark?

Both SR, and especially X3, both failed to carry the great quality X2, Spider-Man 2, and Batman Begins had years before.

For me, Superman Returns delivered and surpassed the great quality of BB, so it's not a disappointment. It is a disappointment that Fox continues to ruin their properties though.

SR was good, and X3 was a step back from X2, but I enjoyed it.

Superman Returns delievered (for me, anyway) but X3 was the most disappointing comic book film yet. :(

I'm not a Superman fan, but I enjoyed SR. I wouldn't rank it with V for Vendetta, Batman Begins, or X2, but I'd say it's right under those in terms of best comic book movies. I didn't think it was that bad.

I enjoyed X3 as a movie...but it really dissapointed me as an X-men movie. It had so much potential too.

I liked X3 a lot. It's not as good as X2, but it beat the first X-Men. I haven't seen SR yet. I'm going this weekend.

even as solely a movie it failed miserably.

It did have a lot of potential but it just went in completely the wrong direction with it. X2 gave it such a perfect set-up too, but it didn't follow through in my opinion.

The moment that invterview with Avi Arad came out, where he said that the Phoenix thing was going to be a side plot, I knew something was going to be very wrong. :(

X3 was good, but it doesn't even touch X2.

I thought SR was great and I loved every second of it.

I can't say that either of these films failed in any respect. Both are doing good box office for one.

Plus, they have a number of detractors and supporters just like many other films. I thought both were passable entertainment.

My expectations for SR were fairly low, and I left the theater feeling that the movie slightly exceeded them. I'm not convinced on the casting yet, but I'm willing to give another Superman movie a shot.

As for X3, it dipped beneath my expectations. But it was still a good action, summer/popcorn film. The ending really undercut it though. I think that the X-franchise could've ended in worse fashion. (And I do hope this is the end.)

X3 was a terrible film. It disheartens me to no end to see it succeed so much.

Superman Returns was one of the best I've seen yet.

I still haven't seen Superman Returns (I've been begging my parents to take me, but sadly my brother and sister would rather see Click, so they will probably win :( ), but I loved X3. It was nowhere near as good as X2 (though it blew the first one out of the water by a mile), but it delivered IMO, I found it really entertaining, and I loved a lot of the film's more emotional moments, especially when Xavier dies, the music especially, it's so beautiful. I can see why a lot of people don't like X3, but I really enjoyed it. Flame me, I won't lose any sleep, it's your opinion and you have the right to state it.

Can I state my opinion that your brother and sister suck hardcore?

Danke.

It also comes in five fruity flavors.

I enjoyed X3 more than all of those movies. Hardly a "failure" IMO.

And I go to the movie to be entertained, not to watch some badly paced, anti-clamatic, soap opera like Superman Returns.

SR was very good and X3 did amazing at the Box-Office so i dotn think that it "failed" and i loved it as a Movie.

Well to me, Superman Returns had the story but not enough action and X3 had the action, but not the story.

Go ahead.

I'm cool with it. I'm not opposed to seeing Click at some point in my life, but SR is just too big a film to miss.

Don´t worry, dude, this is a site, sponsored by Warner/ Dc, that´s the reason why a great movie like X3, with a great cast, with great acting, great action scenes, and a great box office is bashed in this place, in comparison with a bad and disastrous movie like Superman Returns, with a bad cast, a lame script, a horrible suit, with too many flaws ,and a poor box office, with an actor who don´t looks like Superman, is ignored by all public, but the users of this site, specially Dc fans, like, you know what fans, are defending that flop, called Superman Returns.

This site isn't sponsored by Warner. It was originally Spider-Man Hype, devoted to, and only to, Spider-Man's (then upcoming) film. If you referring to any publicity the Hype might have done to, uh, hype Superman Returns, it's because it does that with all of the major comic properties. Fantastic Four, Sin City, and X3 included if my memory serves.

SR was not as good as the original Superman or even Singer's X2, but it was still very good. It took Superman in new and interesting directions (sure that will piss people off about the boy, but he WORKED in this movie and if kept in the same spirit he opens the doors to new possibilities and territories) while retaining a foot in the past (though it is not a mere retread as detractors say). My only complaint is that it lacks the magical feeling of the original and I would have preferred Lex become powerful in Supes' absent (like post-crisis, showing how cynical the world is when we revere our worst villains).

X3 was a pile of ****. Plain and simple. Its effect on this nation's understanding of X-Men and making more than SR is disheartening to say the least.

Funny that you don't mention story or plot :D
