No Way Home "Down Came The Goblin, and Took The Spider Out" - Willem Dafoe Needs His Thread Too

I wonder if Goblin will use this again?

Probably not because it was a bit silly but it doesn't really make sense that he only used it once. Plothole.

I keep watching the trailer and I can't help but smile at the steam punk, battle torn Goblin custome with the purple hoddie and gadget belts. The new glider and those spiky Goblin grenades looks menacing as well.

That homage/shot of Tom going for the grenade looks sick as well.

Blast his face off!

The costume and mask probably get roughed up real good early on during the bridge fight and it doesn't seem like he's gonna have the mask then for the rest of the movie.

I really like the roughed up redesigned Green Goblin costume, it's just a shame he won't have some kind of mask to complete it just on the basis that otherwise it really is like a perfect Green Goblin- more Halloweeny, more purple, the hood. I guess the plus side is you get more of Dafoe emoting but there coulda been a good middle ground type of new mask to try out here.

What will happen first a goblin with the classic look or wolverine getting his like 90s cartoon suit? I want both in live action so bad.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: No mask in the world is as scary as Willem Dafoe's face.

Willem's face doesn't have to be completely visible to see his expression and feel the intensity of his performance. In fact, I will repeat myself, but the best solution would be to leave the mask without covering his mouth and eyes and to light up the inside of his face.

The mask add so much to his appearance.

I see what you're saying, and I love the OG mask

But when you have a face this expressive, I don't see the point in covering it up at all.

For me Green Goblin without goblin features is not Green Goblin, it's like Spider-Man without mask.

Besides... Willem will have really big goggles on his face, the most important element of facial expressions will be completely covered.

I think Wolverine might get some version of it in the MCU. It should be based on the yellow/brown suit in my opinion. I don't think we see Green Goblin again for a while.

Id say the irony is that this new look is probably abit of a step-down to the vision of Green Goblin people have.

It shows how fans are willing to accept far less than they used to in these movies

You mean that you think MCU films provide less of something?

I don't know about that.

Also from day one the Raimi Goblin suit was criticized to hell and back by a lot of Spidey fans so I don't know about some golden age only 19 years ago that puts all modern CBMs to shame.

What I really want out of this movie is for Goblin to see Tobey!Spider-Man and immediately recognize him as HIS Spider-Man.
If that isn't already in they need to write it in.:up:

Always dreamed about a scenario where Dafoe's Green Goblin would return from the dead and fight Tobey's Spidey again back in the day, so stoked (and still in disbelief) we're gonna get that meeting again here. So many juicy moments they need to take advantage of.

One Dafoe moment from the original that I adore is when Aunt May comments that 'All great geniuses are (slobs)', and Norman smiles wistfully, as if remembering his younger days. It's a small moment that gives him such a huge measure of humanity before he takes the final plunge into his Goblin persona.
