No Way Home "Down Came The Goblin, and Took The Spider Out" - Willem Dafoe Needs His Thread Too

To me it just feels like a variant toy where you got a maskless Green Goblin action figure. Don't get me wrong, it looks great seeing his crazy face, but it also feels incomplete lol.

I tried to combine DeFoe's look with the design from Spider-Man: The Animated Series, Norman could have used be the same mask that Black Widow had in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Still silly? :(

That's a pretty good mockup but something looks strange about it. How about one with Dafoe wearing half a mask (battle damaged) like this guy?

If the MCU Norman Osborn is still to come, he should definitely be based on his Ultimate, i.e. the Hulk monster. It’ll tie it closer to the MCU; get SHIELD & Banner involved, etc.

Loving the parallel shot with Spider-Man 2's No More one.

Nice parallel and it makes sense with the declaration of dafoe about his character.

The Green Goblin has a case to state this time. He's trying to make his case. A philosophy of life.

I'm not expecting us to get an MCU Osborn at this stage.
Neither am I. The very fact they had the first Goblin Holland Peter faces off against be Dafoe’s Goblin instead of one from his own world pretty much tells you that Marvel isn’t too interested in doing their own Goblin or else they wouldn’t have brought back Dafoe.

Doing a MCU Goblin would be redundant after NWH as they’ve already done a Spider-Man versus Goblin story in the MCU. The only way I can see them doing a MCU Norman without it feeling overly redundant now is to make him the MCU’s answer to Lex Luthor, where he’s this long running overarching bad guy for other heroes to contend with, and he never puts on the Goblin costume; he’s only this evil industrialist billionaire - basically an evil mirror to Tony Stark.

Yeah agreed. I could see a Ned Leeds Hobgoblin before I see them introduce a MCU one at this stage. The connection to Harry, Peter's best friend, was always the dramatic core of his conflict with GG. So since they're not a factor, it would feel forced at this point.

Holland has faced Electro, Sandman, Doc ock, Lizard and Goblin. I don't think he is facing them again in new forms.

I'm going to see the movie next week, but I caved in and watched a scene with Green Goblin laughing (I'm not too sure if that's a spoiler...I mean he's the Green Goblin... he's GOING to laugh), and I must say... this is actually the first time that I'm actually really excited to see an MCU Spider-Man movie... They are bringing it!

Its like they're afraid to embrace the Goblin look of the character. The very thing that makes him the Green GOBLIN. Not just a dude in green clothing.
J. Scott Campbell draws a gorgeous Goblin, that actually looks like an inhuman creature. I’m sorry that Dafoe didn’t get an animated mask. If Spidey can have a mask with eyes that move, so can the Green Goblin. It just bothers me that Willem plays him a little silly. Spectacular Spider-Man’s Goblin is still perfect for me. But if people are saying that Dafoe nailed it, I’m happy.

Dafoe was the MVP of this movie IMO. I didn't think they could make Norman more sinister and terrifying than he was in SM1, but he almost felt like the Joker at times in this which I really wasn't expecting.

I guess that's even more proof how great of a Joker he would have made in his prime.

It's not too late!
