No Way Home "Down Came The Goblin, and Took The Spider Out" - Willem Dafoe Needs His Thread Too

I don't know, trying to use too many villains too fast has also been a consistent Sony mistake. . . *ahem*
I agree, but in this case I don't mind having all these villains showing up in No Way Home because even though some of them are getting a makeover (like Electro), we've seen them all before in previous films and in turn, you don't need as much development for them as you would for a brand new villain(s). Of course, watching previous films is required to fully understand who each of them are but that's no different from the majority of how the MCU operates anyway.

I think Green Goblin and Electro will get the make-over treatment. But i think their makeover will be explained through a transition in the film

That and all 5 villains serve the same 1 story. Where as say in Spider-Man 3 or ASM2 you had a bunch of villains with their own storyline fighting for the top spot.

I’m not a fan of multi villain stories. I’ve always preferred just the basic hero vs main villain story. That formula allows for the relationship between the hero/villain to be more personal.

I agree with you though that this is much different then what was attempted SM3 and TASM2. In NWH you have all the villains serving a common purpose for the most and also more importantly each of them is already established from their own movies so back story isn’t necessary. The audience already has a relationship with the villains.

The formula should work in NWH. It was a disaster in SM3 and TASM2. I think people have multi villain phobia and PTSD from those movies though. Lol

I wonder if they'll portray the duality of Norman vs the Goblin or just have him be fully Green Goblin?

I don't see them doing that personally. Too much going on for that.

The way he's got his hair and the glasses he's wearing, it just reminds me of his dad. lol

I tried to combine DeFoe's look with the design from Spider-Man: The Animated Series, Norman could have used be the same mask that Black Widow had in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Still silly? :(

It only looks silly because of Dafoe's facial expression but I think you're on to something with the mask being similar to the hyper realistic face mask that Natasha had in TWS. Not necessarily for Dafoe's Goblin but maybe for a future MCU iteration of GG.

Is that......purple trunks he's wearing over the armor?

I still don't think we will get an actual MCU Goblin. I think this is gonna count as MCU Green Goblin.

Sonyverse on the other hand... That could be open a new version.

Maybe its the facial expression, but the look on Norman's face is really giving me a Igor from Young Frankenstein vibe lol.

I wish they had still done something as simple like green war paint if they wanted to drop the mask.
