yeah, I know.

I prefer analyzing plot points and not the Thing's brow. That won't cause a 70 percent drop in the second week boxoffice.

Not enough action, too little/wrong characterizaton. Those are things you can discuss.

I agree. The Thing's brow doesn't bug me at all.

The 92 minute runtime (and AB's review) have me a bit concerned. I just hope my second favorite hero (SS) will be cool enough for me to overlook some of the movies lesser qualitites.

I know. People say that the reason a lot of these movies are being made is because so many writers and producers are comic fans. I just can believe no one stood up and said, "Doom needs a little more characterization." Two or three lines would have worked.

Producers are in it for the $$$. Any other reason is BS. Writers also want to get paid. I wonder how many of these movies writers are actually fans. Most will probably just say that.

Doom was mischaracterized in the first place, so saving him was going to be hard already, but in 92 minutes, it becomes a very daunting task.

but,his mask looks silver coloured,while his armour is black....right?....
or is his mask,a combination of silver and black?...i'm not sure.
his armour should have an overall colour....mask and everything!

If that is the real look of his costume I love it, I didn't mind him too much before, but this is better much better than just a trench coat instead of a cape.

Yes, I know that about you. Same for me, which is why the "we've gotta be happy with what we get" and the "movie-goers won't get it" arguments fall flat with me. I do not go to movies wondering if the people next to me are having a good time. I go for my enjoyment. (The audacity!)

I also will maintain to my dying day that audences would have embraced the Doom origin presented in Annual #2 in only 12 pages more fully than the Norman Osborne corporate clone with ABSOLUTELY nothing special about him except his money that we were presented with. People like stories about extraordinary individuals and "powers" were NEVER what made Doom extraordinary... really the entire FF as well.

I've closely kept an eye on your posts. You certainly appear to be the most loyal of Doctor Doom fans (*save myself*) on this entire board! And yes, I totally agree with you about giving us a more faithful Doom from the source material. Doom's classic origin from Annual #2 would be perfect. Someone even mentioned "Books Of Doom"! Another fine choice. Unfortunately, these people keep on missing the mark with such greatness. If done correctly, Doctor Doom could carry a movie all by himself. If there were a real life Doom watching how he was being portrayed by Avi, Story, and the rest, only one word would leak from his lips...."DOLTS"!!!!!!

With all the insanity that has been going on these boards lately, I got caught up in the sweep of it all...but now refocused and DYING to see the movie...Thursday night, the midnight showing...I can't wait to see the movie....Doctor Doom in all his glory...seeing McMahon back as Doom and everything going on with him, will just be awesome to see on the big screen....especially if I get to hear that score of his that sounded so cool "

Question though...I've never really followed F4 that well but, isn't Dr. Doom's 'scars' psychological? i.e. his scars he's been going on and on about for years were revealed to be almost nothing and that it was his vanity that made him believe he was damaged...
