He's an excellent actor. Wouldn't mind.

Neither would I. I like Tennant also. There are few solid candidates.

It'd be nice if Dempsey isn't being typecast as Dr. Dreamy and nice-guy-who-gets-the-girl roles like Enchanted and Made of Honor. He'd be a cheaper option than Depp at any rate.

Although Depp is a fantastic actor who can probably turn Dr. Strange from an unknown property into a box office bonanza, I do like Parick Dampsey in this role as well. Aside from his enthusiasm to play as the Sorcerer Supreme, I think Marvel can depend on him for sequels for Dr. Strange and maybe even The Avengers, whereas Depp isn't known for doing sequels except for his Pirates of Carribbean franchise. And Dampsey is actually a pretty good actor in his own right.
