Dragonball moves to April 8th 2009

I think it was green lit cause needed films due to teh strike but sinc ethats over they have time to make the green lit film better and give them more time and maybe more script tweaking lol.

Well, this could end up being similar to what Sony did with Ghost Rider? They waited almost a whole year to release that film after filming was completed and it still sucked. If Fox has already spent 75million on this film how much more money will be spent in the next year? The budget could spiral out of control and Fox may end up with another box office failure.

A few things about Ghost Rider though; it did make a decent amount of money; It was mindless fun, which is all we'd expect from Dragonball. And I think these factors = sequel (whether or not it happens is a different thing).

My point is that if Dragonball was equal to Ghost Rider then we'd probably get a DBZ movie with Vegeta and what not. Plus, the international box office for DB would be much better than Ghost Rider.

Dragonball first in Japan. According to this article in the magazine Variety Japan Dragonball is the movie premiered in middle-March 2009, this may be because in March are the Spring holiday in Japan.
Also according to the article that it is due to the high popularity in Japan has Dragonball, which would lead the public of this country to become the first in the world to see the film.
With the change in the release date has favoured this country and according to this article can be considered a "privilege".

Well that is good news for Japan. I think Fox made a wise decision moving this to 2009. The only problem is that won't the movie get pirated and won't there be online cams available soon after? Then no one will bother to watch this in North America.

Every one send this information to all movie sites.

Let the word spread that Japan will get it first.

There are couple of big films coming out in March so I don't think it will be possible.

Watchmen comes early march and then a week before Dragonball April 3 release Monsters vs. Aliens a big animated CGI project from dreamwork comes out.

It's not impossible, we've got films like "The Matrix" to prove anything can look good in movies, even keanu reeves swinging a pole at a million hugo weavings.

I'm really excited to see this movie because Piccolo is going to be the big villain & I'm actually glad they're starting off with DB & not DBZ, it was a great decision. Now all that's left for them to do is make a good....no, great product.

since DB movie is happening insted of DBZ i am happy that piccolo is the villain. that way piccolo and goku can team up in the sequel.

on hte other hand i think the sayian saga is a great story. and i would love if the first movie is about vegeta and then the sequel about frieza and SSJ.

I hope you're right too. The cast does seem dedicated and I'm not worried about them. I just want to read the script to see if it sucks out loud or if it's surprisingly good.

Something strange: Fox is updating its websites. By example, they have updated FoxLatina. A few days before they say that the movie will be delay, Dragonball has been ereased of the page Comingsoon. And today, I check, and Dragonball is again in the page, for august 2008. Somebody of the IMDB board says that delay was just a rumor. Fox never officially confirm the delay. So maybe...
According to Hoycinema, a party has taken place in Durango to celebrate the end of the shooting. Shooting will end this week in Durango normally, but somme scenes are normally previewed in L.A.

It's true, I've checked all Fox websites and they all state a release in August, even though all the other releases are still accurate. I really, really hope they're still in for August.
