Chris Nolan, once you're done working your magic on the next Superman movie, come use your magic touch on a Dragonball reboot.
Question: how do you explain how King Piccolo got that airship in DB:E?
As much as i love DBZ, it will never work as a live action film imo. But make a new animated film... **** yea.
If Pixar ever had the chance to make a PG-13 action/fantasy CG animated film, they'd be the ones to call on.
I believe the key to a good Dragonball Z film that is incredibly important, more important than finding the right actors, is establishing the DBZ universe. That will be the toughest thing to do. How would you establish this universe in a 2 hour film while keeping the attention of the audience?
The same as in any other film, Dragonball Evolution took the cheap route by using the generic futuristic city. All they have to do is establish that it is an alternate earth where dinosaurs still exist, talking animals (if you wanted to include them) martial artist being able to perform superhuman feats.
I should've mentioned I was speaking hypothetically, but thanks anyway. Its something that can be established if done right.
He created a cool story?
No he didn't. The entire series is this
Goku goes to fight someone.
Oh no they're too powerful!
STEP OUT OF THE WAY GOKU (said by random new ally who Goku previously beat in the saga beforehand)
Random Ally puts up a bit better of a fight
IM ALL BETTER NOW, THANKS, TIME TO WIN! (that was Goku, by the way)
ARGGGGH
RAGGGGHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRR
RRRRRRRRRRRRR
HRRRRRRRRRRR
GRARRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHH
ARRRRRRRRRHGHHHHHHHH
RARRRRRRRRRRRRRR
(that's him charging up for three episodes)
Spirit Bomb / Ultra Kamahamaha and enemy is deadzo.
Change Goku with Gohan in a few instances, and it's basically the entire series.
...you are completely missing the point. This is geared towards 7 - 14 year olds. This is essentially like complaining about the storyline in power rangers. Its not meant to have an intricate plot or deep story...and yes, many plot devices were rehashed but still it is a unique and very adventurous universe. I'm 19 years old and haven't seen power rangers in such a long time but I appreciate it for what it was... a really good kid's show. I feel the same applies here or any children's show for that matter.
Disney no longer owns it. Haim Saban has the rights again to the series.Hey don't bring the power rangers into this. thaz my childhood. let it stay nutral. altho disney is ruining it now btw.
Just do it in CGI and maybe use Hollywood talent to do the voices.

On DBZ, I never expected much of a great film adaption, so if it happens, and actually works this time I am all for it, but for now, I'd rather not hope on it,
