should dbevolution be rebooted?

  • no, you can't/shouldn't adapt dragon ball into live action.

yeah but should he remember where he stashed the other dbs?it would be cooler if somehow the jar caused him memory loss....you know..his brain/mind would be all numb...or so...:yay:

But if he knows to get revenge on martial artists when released it be weird if he doesn't know about his hidden dragon balls as well.

i don't think getting even with his imprisoner would slip away just like that...as for the dbs location, they could make him have flashbacks

That be interesting to have KP having flashbacks about the dragon balls after he escapes and to add to that maybe even being part of Kami and the location of Kami's Lookout.

But what about before he's imprisoned? Should he already know about all that stuff? Or when Kami splits into two should he make sure his evil side doesn't retain any of that information? If that's the case then King Piccolo wouldn't have gathered any dragon balls before he was imprisoned, period. But if he did collect DB's maybe its after learning about them from Mutaito who was collecting them to get rid of him before finding out about the evil containment wave.

yeah cuz realizing that he doesn't have acces to the balls he once held in his hands (hahahahaha......ahem-sorry) would make him feel really frustrated hence his rage will truly be unbound

So was the Dragon Ball reboot we heard about a false rumor? I haven't been keeping up with it, so I'm pretty clueless.

there's not going to be a reboot...chances are they'll make a sequel

Two questions:

1) Should King Piccolo make the wish like in the show or should it be the good guys instead?

2) Should the final fight between King Piccolo and Goku be in Central City like in the show or somewhere else?

Something else that I think should change and hardcore fans might not like it, is the symbols on people clothes from Japanese to something understandable like the Capsule Corp or Red Ribbon emblem. Hardcore fans might know what they mean but what about people who have never seen the show. Did anyone who watched DB:E but never the show know what was written on Goku's orange uniform?

If they get Akira on board again for a reboot maybe get him to redesign the Japanese symbols in the vain of the Capsule Corp and Red Ribbon Army ones. Maybe that way hardcore fans would be interested instead of angry at the change.

I think a 20 second explanation of the logos in the film would clear that up....so in short, the Capsule and Red Ribbon logo's remain

I think Chi-Chi should grow up being trained by her father. It be a nice connection to have with Goku; both trained by students of Master Roshi.

Here's an alternative to Goku's first encounter with Chi-Chi from the manga:

Upon first seeing Chi-Chi by herself, Goku's entranced by her training. It could be love at first sight for Goku. But seeing as how he doesn't know what that is and never feeling it before he thinks Chi-Chi's using demon magic on him. It be a similar situation to when he first met Bulma.
So Goku leaps of his cloud and kicks her. A nice comical moment for two character who would eventually marry.
Goku calls her a witch or demon sorceress before eventually finding out she's really Chi-Chi.

Also having Chi-Chi learn martial arts at a young age would give more depth to when she enters the Martial Arts Tournament. It wouldn't be so out of left field that she now knows martial arts.

Also, is Chi-Chi really Goku's love interest? He never really liked her in dragon ball and only married her because he promised. Isn't Goku's love interest really about getting stronger?
If so, should they play it out like that in a reboot?

Plus the fight scenes should be no less hard-hitting than those in the Superman/Doomsday animated movie. I don't want to just see the fight scenes in a DB reboot I want to really feel it.

If they have Grandpa Gohan killed by Oozaru I think Goku should train himself to get stronger and seek revenge.
He does it for Krillin so it seems odd that he never did it for his Grandpa. Goku also decides to get stronger after Oozaru destroys Pilaf's castle but never does so after Oozaru kills his Grandpa.

imo with DB:E I felt it was a good idea to start with Goku and bypass all the Red Ribbon army stuff and Pilaf because I just believe that the alien enemies like Namekans and Saiyans was always more interesting, plus it makes a smoother transition to DBZ.

With Chi-chi, just illustrate that Goku loves fighting. In DBZ Chi-chi did mention to Gohan in the latter episodes of DBZ on her first date with Goku she told Goku that they can do what they like and what Goku loved most was fighting. So they fought each other and was an equal match for each other (this is before Goku met Master Roshi). It was a good first date for them.

I think if you present Goku as a boy oblivious to the world, they can do that easily. It was be a pretty fun scene.

Me too, this time around they should pay closer attention to the source material. At this rate with the TLA tanking, they're making it look like it's almost impossible to translaste an anime into live action.

I blame Fox`s low budget and Wong for not being a fan of DB for how bad DB:E was
It would have been much better had Stephen Chow directed it

i've always thought (and even said it like a year ago) that fox is waiting for tlab's release to decide whether to go on with the db project or leave it as it is...i kinda hoped the last airbender would be successful cuz that would prove that movies based on anime with tons of fighting and effects still have a chance of being made and also liked by the general audience...it seems to me that instead of taking a chance and get seriously involved in db (like they did with cameron's pochahontas-yeah that's exactly what i said) they'd rather lay back and let paramount test the water...sooo IMO fox has 2 options: to man up,learn from tlab and make an awesome db movie, ooor they could just chiken out...

When it comes to the World Martial Arts tournament I think fans would get angry either way- if it was omitted or thrown into a DB reboot.

If it was omitted because logically the tournament only occurs after the DB's turn to stone for one year after Shenron is summoned, fans would get angry. It happened in the show but you don't put it in a DB movie. Again! Stupid!

But if it was put in to make fans happy, that would mean changing the very conditions on when the tournament took place in the show. Fans would probably spot this change and again get angry. Goku never fought in the tournament while hunting for the dragon balls- he had no time. Stupid!

So if they do a DB reboot, what is the screenwriter suppose to do?

The same idea about making the audience angry also applies to Master Roshi's training with Goku and Krillin's appearance.

If they followed the manga more closely like fans want that would mean leaving out Goku's training with Master Roshi until a sequel because it never happened until after that first one year break with the dragon balls. But following that route would mean leaving Krillin out again which would enrage fans for a second time.
Now, I mentioned Goku's training with Roshi; Master Roshi can still appear in the first movie but maybe just for two cameo when he hands over the 3-star ball and uses the Kamehameha on Fire Mountain.

Or should they pacify fans and throw Krillin in? But this would either result in moving up Goku's training with Master Roshi to during the hunt for the dragon balls which never happened. Or, if they don't move up the training have Goku meet Krillin elsewhere which also didn't happen.

They should just go in the same vein as the DBZ animated movies and have everything take place in an alternate timeline. Just introduce a new enemy, DB, DBZ alone is quite alot to try and condense into a series of films, things would get left out that were essential in the series. In DBZ Goku, Vegeta, and Nappa were the only full blooded Saiyans, but in the movies, there was Broly, Paragus, Bardock etc. Just do it like that.
