I have an idea for this wacky comedy about this 70-year-old orange moron who runs for President just for f***s, not thinking for a second he'll actually get in but he does and of course, there are all sorts of hilarious consequences.

I picked up the 95 film on blu ray in a steel book but I cannot tell if it is a remaster of the original version or is it the 2.0 version with the CGI parts added. I have not taken it out of the plastic yet but it is the one with the puppet master on the cover, if anybody has this steelbook what version is on the disc?

This is a Japan that has went though not one, but two new world wars. A nuclear World War III and conventional World War IV. The world outside GITS Japan is a dystopian mess, the United States has collapsed into three different countries including a neo-fascist state often called the American Empire that is engaged in invasions and occupations of Latin America. Then Russia and China are so bad off, they barely seem to have any major influence beyond their borders. Its mentioned in passing that Berlin was destroyed in both wars. This is a crapsack world and Japan is a like shining beacon of hope in the dark.

The Japan of GITS has millions of refugees from all over the world. There are major international anti-cyborg terrorists active in Japan. This isn't the homogenous Japan of today, but a melting pot of global cultures, ethnic groups, and transhumanism.

Even though I am Asian, I have no problem with ScarJo's casting. I also have no problem with FMA's casting; the main thing is the movie is Japanese, and is in the Japanese language. If there were a lot of qualified white actors in Japan who could speak fluent Japanese, I am sure they'd be up for these parts in a second. There is a white Canadian actor named Mark "Dashan" Rowswell, who lives in China and speaks fluent Mandarin and can't get a moment's rest because of the work that gets thrown his way. Asian-American actors wish they had his problems.

I think race-bending overall is okay, as long as A) the director has to be able to defend the decision, and B) it has to be respectful. I have a problem with the way it was handled for the movie 21, for example, which neither of those criteria were met.

That is far too limited. Gender is optional too. She can have any kind of body parts where ever she wants in whatever place she wants in whatever skin color, hair color or eye color she wants.

If she wants to be 7 feet tall with purple skin, green hair, four pink eyes and have eight fingers on both hands where her feet would be, wings and a tail, she can have that.

Would make blending in kind of hard though.

lol Hair dye or wig and contacts and your problem solved just like what they did with Scarlett here.

The thing with Hollywood adapting Naruto is that it's still is steeped with traditional and cultural Japanese/Asian elements in it so you will have a visual of a bunch of non-Japanese people running around in clothes like kimonos, ramen shops, Japanese houses, names.etc. Now that would be silly.
