Okay, maybe I should have posted this on my earlier thread about fan letters, but tomorrow when I go to the comic store, I'll be taking Amazing off my list for the first time in years. I was really hoping the BMD would overcome the atrocity of OMD that was it's genesis, but it simply hasn't. I'm really sad to be leaving my favorite superhero, but paying for a book I don't enjoy reading anymore just isn't worth it. Apologies to Dan Slott, I was hoping the humor that made She-Hulk so much fun would reinvigorate AMS. It hasn't, and I'm voting with my pocketbook. I hope AMS returns to readability someday in the near future.

Congrats for your bravery. I know how dropping a title after years, especially one you once liked, can be hard. Quitting anything cold turkey can be rough.

Hopefully, you'll replace it with a comic you enjoy more.

I dropped it a few months ago. You didn't see me making any threads about it.

I'm thinking of dropping it and replacing it with Captain America

There's a thread in the Spider-Man section about people saying why they dropped the comic. Post there, also put the "Amazing Spider-Man" I Quit avatar on for a few days.

We needed a thread for this???

And after nearly a quarter of a century of mediocre stories (excluding a few gems here and there), the Amazing Spider-Man has returned to a level of formidable "readability"... in my opinion.

:yay:

Well you're right about a quarter-century of mediocrity. Getting close to a half a century in about 10 years or so.

Dropping ASM was a good decision for me, as well. Not only are the stories completely uninteresting (and sometimes downright awful), but having an extra $3 a week for a more deserving book makes Baby Jesus happy.

I dropped ASM long ago.I knew I wouldn't be able enjoy it not even with Dan Slott.I feel bad for Slott because I wish he would have come on ASM at a better time.

Excellent choice. Excellent choice. You can also save up the $6 you're saving from the other 2 ASM issues every month and eventually buy the Captain America #1-25 hardcover. :D

OMG! I can't believe you guys are STILL crying about this??!!??

WAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

You guys are high. You're telling me the Michelinie/ McFarlane days were "mediocre"?

BND is ok, but i'd prefer ANY of the late 80's/early 90's stuff over the current stuff anytime. Even Larsen's run. At least that era stood on it's own merits and wasnt scambling to recapture past glories...:meanie:

We...agree?

That and the DeMatteis SSM eras are some of my favorites, ridiculously voluptuous MJ and all.
