Droping Amazing Spider-Man

I would rejoice. Even if that meant that that Peter wasn't married to MJ, it would still do away with the whole Mephisto business.

I doubt it'd change much for me. I'd feel a twinge of joy if it pissed the people still reading Amazing Spider-Man off as much as OMD/BND pissed off the people who quit reading it during that time, like me, though. I'm a small, small man.

What would you think if the Secret Invasion Spider-Man turned out to be the real deal and the OMD/BND Spidey were a Skrull, TMOB?

I guess it would depend on how the story played itself out....

I have great dislike for OMD, yet in spite of that, BND has been a great breath of fresh air, and I'm enjoying the comic for what it is: good ol' Spidey fun... WITH the hopes that explanations will come in due time... I don't need all the answers right away, unlike some people...

And if Marvel decided to go that route (one I would doubt very much, as most Spidey fans are sickened with big "life-altering events"), as long as it's a good story, I'll be cool with it.

:yay:

I would've thought it bring up too many uncomfortable memories of the Clone Saga. It's basically the same plot, only with a Skrull instead of a clone.

I had no problems with the Clone Saga until they decided to drag it out for 2 1/2 years with the back'n forth on who was the clone and then decided to "quick fix" the problem by ressurecting Norman Osborn, who should have stayed in the grave.

So as I said... as long as it's a good story...

:yay:

I don't like OMD/BND....but if I were rebooting...why go half hearted with half hearted alternate histories?

Bring back not only Harry but Gwen and Captain Stacey and the works!

I mean..that's what i would do...if i HAD to reboot...i'd reboot the life outta whatever I rebooted, and not half heartedly. I'd go for the gusto!

And if I were using a dopey Devil makes elderly lady live longer in exchange for marriages story...i'd make it even dopier and go for the dope!

I posted something but it was stupid so I deleted it.

That is small and petty. I've never taken any pleasure in people not liking what happened in Spidey. Quite the opposite. I've tried to take part in the discussion and put it in a context that I think will make sense, but I know when people's minds are made up. I like the direction now, and hope it continues. If it's overturned by events in SI (which I wouldn't put any money on), I would be fine with that, as long as the good stories keep coming. It's not like any of us were jumping for joy by how we got here (do you guys really not get that?) I really don't understand the extreme nastiness towards people who continue to read Amazing simply because they like it. Very un-spidey-like in my opinion.

Different strokes, my friend. I'm no saint and I know it. But, on the other hand, aside from a little stretch immediately after OMD when I was still pissed, I haven't been "extremely nasty" to anyone still reading ASM. I've been content to simply not read it myself.

Me too. From what I've heard each issue ranges from good to medicore to nothing original.I don't care if someone likes it.But me I don't care for it.I'm just buying back issues.
