Could just simply be it wasn't as far along as we all assumed, or it's taking longer to develop than expected. Might even be just be wanting for TGS or something. I don't see this as being so major a point to believe Rising is somehow being altered to some kind of radical degree, at least not at this point.

How is it inferior? Its the same game just with updated visuals and the controls from Sons of Liberty.

I dunno, never played it. I've seen a few cutscenes online...and they did seem sorta off the wall for me. Over-the-top in like slap stick manners Matrix would be how I'd describe it. Snake doing a backflip off of missile heading his way is pretty ****ing crazy. It seemed even crazier than Eva's backflip on her motorcycle off of Ocelot's face in MGS3.

It's also not exactly a Kojima project, either. I've read that they had literally done the game verbatim to the PS1 version, cutscenes, music, dialouge, everything was exactly as the PS1 version only prettier and with MGS2 controls...and that Kojima had told Silicon Knights to go back and re-do them in THEY'RE own way.

I didn't like the change of Mei-Ling's voice actress, personally. But they did that in MGS4 too, so whatever.

I'm pretty concerned about the state of that game if they don't want to show it this far in development.

Yeah, me too. It not being present, at all, has some alarms sounding off in my head. Could just be Kojima being Kojima, though...since it's not him making the game, but it still is his Kojima Productions doing it.

But still...I'm a little worried for that game now.
