FFVII IS a good game though. No, it's not the best of them, but it is easily in the top five. I am convinced that the people that hate it only hate it because it brought in a new wave of Final Fantasy fans and is now SO popular among the masses that it's "cool to hate it". This happens with a lot of games... So, I'm not surprised.

agreed, i am one of the new FF fans due to this game, but i am not one of THE fans.

a lot of the ff7 fans rather than focus on the decent story and playability, the went the pervy route and just became disturbed. and for that i don't blame other for thinking the game sucks because of these weirdos

They'll try and add all kinds of stuff into it that were AC or the 'beyond universe' like the dudes from Crisis Core that hung out with Sephiroth.

And, they'll also take out all the humor and badassedness in the game. No more cross dressing cloud. No more cloud x barret golden saucer scenes, etc etc.

The makers of Ratchet and Resistance have confirmed that we'll finally get details on their brand new game universe on Monday.

It was last year around this time that we got news that Insomniac had signed up with EA Partners to create a brand new game in a brand new universe, but there has barely been any information about the project since then. Insomniac confirmed over its Twitter feed today that it will be unveiling its new game and universe on Monday at EA's press conference. It's also worth noting that Insomniac's web site is currently "down for some much needed updates". Could an official game site be in the offing?

What's it going to be? Another character-driven action/platformer like Ratchet & Clank? A sci-fi shooter in the vein of Resistance? Or something entirely new?

Fantastic news. I have high hopes for Insomniac's new franchise. I love the Ratchet & Clank franchise. I was a big fan of the first three Spyro games. And though FPS are not my thing, I did enjoy what I played of Resistance: Fall of Man.

Not only the new Insomniac game, but i also expect the new Syndicate from StarBreeze on the EA press conference.

For the ones that don´t know what it is

Syndicate was originally developed by Peter Molyneux's legendary Bullfrog Productions and released in 1993. Set in a dystopian future in which the world is ruled by ruthless, gigantic corporations, the game put players in charge of a four-member squad of cybernetic agents tasked with jobs including kidnapping, targeted assassination, stealing other corporations inventions for the boys in R&D and occasional bursts of intense, drug-fueled slaughter.

I have the feeling the new Syndicate will the new Godfather, as their premise is very similar (Syndicate basically created the open world mission based game)

A page late, but sorry, not meaning to hate on FFVII, but as a game or RPG, it just wasn't very good.

as for PS1 era FF games, VIII and IX all did it better. FFIV is my personal favorite of the games though. Strangely enough, I'm one of the few who's favorite PS1 era FF is FFVIII.

IX is close though. I love Vivi so much.

Why is this conversation even being had? Every E3 since the PS2 came out really, we've heard harping about the FFVII remake finally being announced and it never happens. These rumors will probably be just that, rumors.
