E3 2013

So... everyone's top anticipated games for E3 2013? God do I love lists.

6. Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - It's big brother is a known quantity now, but the upcoming Metroidvania Vita/3DS title is what really excites me. It would be great to see info on this at E3.

5. The Last Guardian - I feel a bit stupid for putting this, but I spent all of last weekend playing through Shadow of the Colossus in HD and its got me really excited for more info on The Last Guardian, which pretty much has to be a PS4 title by now. If it's a PS3 game still that'll be a bit of a blow.

4. Destiny - This is a game that can steal the show. IT's the type of title I could lose a lot of time in just looking at gameplay videos. I'm hoping we see the scope of Halo 3's battlefields return in Destiny.

3. Freedom Wars - Announced yesterday for Vita, Freedom Wars looks like another spin on the Monster Hunter genre from Sony Japan. Based on how Soul Sacrifice turned out that's enough to get me really, really excited. Hopefully we see gameplay at the show.

2. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 - Mirror of Fate was pretty disappointing when all things are said and done, so I'm admittedly nervous about LoS2's blowout. But the original is so incredible that I still can't wait to see this in action.

1. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain - Bring on the Hayter reveal (!) and the 20 minute trailer that I'll pick apart and speculate on right up until the next 20 minute trailer.

Confirmed Games
  • Dark Souls II - The first two are two of my favorite games of the generation, so I'm definitely excited to see more of the new one.
  • Destiny - I just really want to see an extended gameplay demo, to see what playing the game is actually like.
  • Dragon Age III - This is surprisingly the game I'm most interested to see more of. Not "excited", just interested. I'm very, very curious to see how Bioware has decided to follow up on the abysmal DAII.
  • Metal Gear Solid V - My hunger for Metal Gear has no limits, of course I want to see more.

Unconfirmed/Unannounced Games
  • Half-Life 3 - I know Valve isn't coming to E3, but damn it a man can dream.
  • Shenmue III - It was rumored that Sony is going to publish Shenmue III for PS4. I think that sounds like 100% bull****... but if Yu Suzuki walks out on that stage during Sony's presser I WILL LOSE MY GODDAMN MIND.
  • Final Fantasy Versus XIII - Announced in 2006, by far the most interesting thing Square has worked on this generation, occasionally rumored to be vaporware, most recently rumored to be retooled as FFXV... I know it probably won't live up to expectations, but I just want it to finally be released.

In terms of games, im really hoping we get to see Watchdogs and Assassins Creed IV running on the PS4 and XBONE. Id like to see the differences the new consoles are gonna offer up.

Good lord that would be incredible.

Will Spike broadcast everything from E3 like the press-conferences?,I know they are doing E3 coverage But don't know how much.

Damn, has it already been a year since we saw Watch Dogs at last year's E3. Time flies lol.

That's the game I want to see the most next to SSB4

Hmm... completely forgot about Nintendo.

  • Mario Wii U - A proper new Mario is almost always an occasion to be excited, but I'm really hoping that this new one takes inspiration from Super Mario 3D Land as it is easily my favorite Mario game since Super Mario World.
  • Super Smash Bros. 4 - Nintendo has only promised "screenshots" for E3, but hopefully there's a trailer. I'm pretty curious to see if Namco's involvement has affected the series in one way or another.
  • LTTP 2 - I still think it looks kind of ugly and sterile, but gameplay-wise I think it looks like the most FUN Zelda in ages and it appears like it's going in a pretty different direction than recent games in the series which is very much a welcome change.
  • Majora's Mask 3D - They've hinted at it plenty since OOT 3D, it has to be coming sooner or later. Throw in a special edition 3DS XL in a bundle and I'll get it day one.

I would THROW my money at them. THROW it.

:woot:

I hope some footage from Arkham Origins is shown. It's been nice reading about people playing the demo, but it would be nice to have the demo shown (the one for AC held me until I had the box set in my hands at midnight of the release.) Outside of it, I am interested in Lords of Shadow II and Smash Brothers 4.

I honestly want them to tell me that Arkham Orgins will also be on the PS4/X1... I'm handing down my Xbox come November so if I get that confirmation I'll just hold off on the game until then.

They're doing Xbox for sure. I'm not sure about the others, you could always watch the other conferences through Twitch

Haha at this point they have no option. I mean the amount of negativity they are being hit with is unlike anything iv seen in recent memory. They have more riding on this years E3 than any other console manufacturer in the last 2 gen cycles.
I'm really curious to see if Microsoft feels that they know that they ****ed up their announcement badly. Because I agree, this negativity is just terrible.

Expected it But cool to have confirmation,Hoping for Battlefront III and a new Knights of the Old Republic or new Galaxies game that includes a console port.

After about 3 years of crap conferences from all the console manufacturers I hope they can do something decent now that they have so much to show.

Don't all the main gaming sites show this stuff live nowadays?

they have for the last several years. People dont even need to ask where it will be. Gametrailers, Gamespot, IGN, Youtube, etc.... will all have it

I heard that they were actually very surprised by the response.

Yeah its much easier to tune in now than it was years back. Although I will miss the days when I had G4 and they would air it on TV. That way I could check the web and watch the conference at the same time, but now I have to worry about switching tabs which just gets annoying.
