Eckhart Eyeing Green Lantern?

If Eckhart can be Lantern despite being Two-Face, then Collin Farrell must be Sinestro despite being Bullseye.

But no, I don't like Eckhart for Lantern. Not cause he's Two Face, just cause he's not really what I think of as Lantern. Nor Cap for that matter.

Oh...and because I can't enter a DC comics movie thread without saying it.....James Roday for Flash damnit! :cmad:

He meets the visual requirements for the Golden Age GL, Alan Scott, but we probably won't be seeing Alan in the upcoming GL film.

Hey doc,

Just read your sig and I like the casting choice. I'm a big fan of Fillion and I think his brooding/joking/stalwart/snap in a heartbeat persona goes great with fun-loving, iron-willed, fearless, "I-gotta-be-an-outer-space-cop?" Hal Jordan.

i know alot of folks with like fillon as hal but didnt he say in an interview awhile back he doesnt want to do gl or hero films.

Why no gl or hero films? He lends his voice in DC animated works, live action movie is just a step up.

Anyhow money talks, the economy doesn't exactly lend for many opportunities, and seeing how RDJ with Iron Man & Chris Bale with Batman get more offers, I don't see why not.

True i was just pointing out i remember seeing an interview with her like a year or so ago saying he wasnt interesting in playing a superhero live action film.

Yeah, Fillion didn't seem to be into it. here's a link http://www.dc-kingdom.com/index.php?categoryid=29&p2_articleid=257

Right now for Hal, I'm hoping for

Josh Lucas.

He does a good performance as a character similar to Hal in Stealth.

thanks i could see josh D be good for hal, i know over on the jla boards he was a name people had on castings ideas for either supes or bats more for bats it think it was.

Eh, fans jump to too many conclusions. It read to me they asked him if he would do another superhero movie (as he would be great casting for Captain America) and I'm sure he hasn't been offered any roles or talked to anyone and said that. They pressed him and he said he liked Green Lantern growing up, doesn't men he is going to lobby for the role.

I think if he ever plays another character in a superhero movie it would/should be Mr. Steve Rogers himself, Captain America. NO fanboy whining about franchise swaps in "a single universe" and he has the look and chops to play Cap. Albeit, would Marvel cast TWo-Face as Cap? Well if he continues to get good press for his performance in TDK (which he currently is) and audiences respond well to him, I don't see much of a backlash by anyone but a few whiny fanboys "Two-Face can't be Captain America!"

I'd personally prefer to see Jim Caviezal, Mark Wahlberg, or James Marsden as Hal Jordan. And looking at that picture Avatar posted earlier of Caviezal, I'm think he may be the best choice at the moment.

I will never understand the Caviezel for Green Lantern thing.

I'm surprised no one's ever considered Brendan Fraser for Hal Jordan/Green Lantern.

I think more people see him more for superman then any others. But he could probably pull a good hal off.

Now see, I never really saw Fraser as Superman, seeing as how he doesn't really look like Superman. Fraser looks sort of like Hal and I think he could probably capture Hal's lovable smart-ass personality quite well.

I honestly want Frasier for Captain Marvel. That's always been who I pictured him has. He can pull off that "gee-golly" child-like innocence perfectly and bring out the humor in the character but get serious when he needs to.

Plus I want to see Brendan Frasier vs. The Rock (the real Rock. Not CG Rock.). With superpowers!

As for Eckhart as Hal...Nope. Don't see it. Alan Scott? Yeah. Hal Jordan? No. Aside from that I would be bugged by him playing two iconic DC characters.

I saw Eckhart on Conan O'Brian last night. I think that interview this thread was based on he was being nice and playful. It seemed to me given his interview on Conan he has little interest in doing more action movies and repeatedly said he "prefers doing dramas" and what attracted him to TDK was a brilliant screenplay (and also working with Nolan as his last forays into mainstream blockbusters had been disasterous i.e. The Core and that Ben Affleck movie).

I'd go for Josh Duhamel or David James Elliott(JAG) for Hal Jordan....anyone other than that would have to be super impressive to get me on board

I think Caviezal would be a great choice for Hal Jordan.
