Okay, the guy went to a freakin' Church and asked GOD to kill a man. God does not kill people so I'm really wondering why he would even go to a Church for that reason. :o The movie is still great though, just sayin'. :oldrazz:

It's an insight into his character.

He thinks coffee with someone equals an amazing evening.

    He's delusional as hell.

He couldn't do anything else. He was so desperate and he had nobody to turn to.

It's because he's a self centered, delusional psychopath.

    It's clear as day.

God doesn't kill people?! You ever heard of this book called the Bible? He spends a large part of The Old Testament doing just that!
But yeah, Eddie was a psycho. I really regret that Venom got so little screen time because Topher was one of the best parts of the movie.

Well...that is the point, Eddie is totally psycho. Someone sane would not do that, it tells you a lot about him. In the book he even say something like "Why should I pay for all of the imperfection of everyone around me?"

I'm just saying, God is supposed to be the embodient of basically all that is good to my knowledge so if someone like Peter/Spider-Man is helping people, he's not just going to kill him for some guy who is holding a grudge for basically his own wrong doings.

That's exactly the point, though. Like I said earlier, it's an insight into the kind of person that Eddie is.

Biblically God doesn't kill anyone who doesn't deserve death. Someone sins horribly and God kills them. end of story...

Who cares, the entire scene was one of the actually awesome scenes in the movie. Besides, it could show that Eddie was getting desperate..maybe he thought EVERYONE would be against Spidey with him. Who knows..

I really don't think Eddie was at all insane or psycho at that point. He was severely depressed and angry at what life(and Parker)had done to him. Although,it was his own fault, but when your mind is that filled with sadness, anger and frustration then you're not thinking clearly. If pushed hard enough, everyone has that "anger" inside them. To be honest,I kinda felt sorry for the guy. It was only when he joined with the symbiote and became Venom, that he became a murderous and unstable monster.
    That's only my opinion,anyway.

That's debatable, but I really don't want to go that direction.

As for Eddie, he's an egotistic jerk that thinks anything that crosses him is bad...and Peter exposing him destroyed his career, so he felt Peter deserved it. And at that point, he didn't know Peter was Spidey also.

Yes, and his being there is less coincidental that I originally thought. It's clear that Eddie was stalking Gwen and followed them to the jazz club. The church is across the street from the jazz club. Eddie's warped mind must have processed Pete's "find religion" quote from when Pete exposed him as a fraud.

    It's all good.
