The above stuff is awesome, Tamriel is already in it more or less huh? It really doesn't matter to me, I'm getting the expansion/DLC regardless of where it took place. Shivering Isles kept me entertained for a long while, and a single quest line can last 4-8 hours (depending on how you play...so as long as some games in their entireity). So it'll be worth it regardless.
Also, gotta love those random moments...
So I'm going to kill the gourmet, and fast travel to him (had the Inn discovered already). I already had the ghost of you know who summoned (to keep from spoiling...still awesome you can summon him), and Shadowmere with me. The gourmet is coming out just as I get to the door, then right as I'm about to talk to him I hear a roar and wing flaps. TWO Elder dragons show up. So while I kill one, Shadowmere, the ghost, and the gourmet fight and distract the other. The dragon kills the gourmet, and I get credit. I finish the first dragon, then finish the other. So the dragons did my assassination work, and I got 2 souls heh.
Also like the little touches. Like finding a burnt down house in the middle of nowhere, and finding a scroll of summoning fire atronarch under the poor guy's burnt remains. All that work just to hint at a backfired spell. Or books that hint at your Oblivion character's involvement.
As for where I am storywise I completed the Companion's line, and I believe I'm about to finish the Thieves guild, and Dark Brotherhood quests. Already finished the big assassination, and the night mother told me to go check another contract. Also am on my way to Nocturnal's realm I think. After that it's back to the main quest, which is a hell of a lot better than Oblivion's.
