Elder Scrolls V - Part 4

For any George R.R. Martin fans, found a nice little easter egg, a character named Horik Halfhand in Dawnstar :P

Also, on that note, so much of Skyrim seems like a love letter to the Game of Thrones series in general, there are so many nods here and there.

I would be shocked if the DLC took place in Morrowind. Then again, the Shivering Isles were pretty damn big. Bethesda doesn't slack off when it comes to DLC.

The only reason I wonder if DLC will include Morrowind is due to the fact that it's "technically" there. I'm thinking to myself... by bother "putting it there" if they're not going to use it at a later date?

I'd pay 20-30 for a full Morrowind expansion regardless..

As far as DLC goes, I'm still waving the "Bloodmoon 2" flag.

When it was revealed that all of Tamriel was in the game, I had a feeling that the territory in Bloodmoon would be in this. That was land disputed with the Dark Elves and Nords, IIRC.

What do you mean all of Tamriel is in the game? I must have missed that....

Yep. Now it's pretty much the Dunmer's homeland though. Morrowind got blown the hell up, and then the Argonians invaded and drove the remaining elves out and into Solstheim and Skyrim.

All of Tamriel is mapped out as landscape in the heightmap, but with no little objects (apart from a rough White Gold Tower in Cyrodiil).

Wow, that is insane. You've gotta think that they intend to use that at some point.

Anyway, I've recently finished the Dark Brotherhood quests. Does anyone else find it odd that people are still going on about [blackout]Vici's[/blackout] murder but no one says a damn thing about the fact that the [blackout]Emperor[/blackout] was assassinated?

Game of Thrones is what motivated me to play Skyrim so it's nice seeing little stuff like that.

The above stuff is awesome, Tamriel is already in it more or less huh? It really doesn't matter to me, I'm getting the expansion/DLC regardless of where it took place. Shivering Isles kept me entertained for a long while, and a single quest line can last 4-8 hours (depending on how you play...so as long as some games in their entireity). So it'll be worth it regardless.

Also, gotta love those random moments...

So I'm going to kill the gourmet, and fast travel to him (had the Inn discovered already). I already had the ghost of you know who summoned (to keep from spoiling...still awesome you can summon him), and Shadowmere with me. The gourmet is coming out just as I get to the door, then right as I'm about to talk to him I hear a roar and wing flaps. TWO Elder dragons show up. So while I kill one, Shadowmere, the ghost, and the gourmet fight and distract the other. The dragon kills the gourmet, and I get credit. I finish the first dragon, then finish the other. So the dragons did my assassination work, and I got 2 souls heh.

Also like the little touches. Like finding a burnt down house in the middle of nowhere, and finding a scroll of summoning fire atronarch under the poor guy's burnt remains. All that work just to hint at a backfired spell. Or books that hint at your Oblivion character's involvement.

As for where I am storywise I completed the Companion's line, and I believe I'm about to finish the Thieves guild, and Dark Brotherhood quests. Already finished the big assassination, and the night mother told me to go check another contract. Also am on my way to Nocturnal's realm I think. After that it's back to the main quest, which is a hell of a lot better than Oblivion's.

My character is a black panther (khajit) with every facial characteristic also edited black. Looks awesome. Now if only I could find some better looking armour. Btw do you guys play in 1st or 3rd person?

Sounds good. I'll probably do that.

I only remembered that 3rd person was possible 2 days ago. Makes the game much better for me as I love being able to see the character that I've spent all that time customising.

I play in first person, but switch to third person to check out new armor and such.

Also, I've discovered that using bound weapons with my warrior is pretty fun!

Only time I play in 1st person is when I use a bow.

I play in 3rd person except when I'm exploring a room and want a closer view. I generally won't even buy a game if it's 1st person, so having the option to choose is ideal.

I switch back and forth randomly, with no rhyme or reason as to why I'm doing such.

I prefer first person the majority of the time. It feels much more intimate, the world seems much better in first person.

Occasionally I switch to 3rd person to remind myself that the character isn't a floating ghost and occupies some space.

That should be the basis of some DLC. We need more Argonians and Khajiits.

That's a big part of my personal unease with first person. The other things are not being able to see a character I made an otherwise pointless effort to customize and, the big thing, having a complete lack of peripheral vision. Running around in first person feels like Tim Burton Batman, not being able to turn my head.

I play mainly in first person but I occasionally play as third person because I'm a bit of a narcissist and I like to look at how great my character is.
