Anyone given funny names to thier enchanted items like I have? I got bored and made a waterbreathing helm for the sole reason of calling the Cap of Drownball after reading through 8 bit theatre again.

hahaha yeah..since most of the males marriage candidates are filthy or werewolves scum.
I thought the same. I was looking at the marryable male NPCs for if I had a female character. The selection is awful, even of the dozens of Nords. Farkas and Vilkas are the best of the lot and I'm not marrying guys who wear eyeliner. I'd rather marry Brynjolf of the Thieves Guild but I don't think it's possible even with the command console.

Niiiiice! it looks much better in silver too...and nice combo with that ancient Nord helmet. And for some reason, the Dwarven armor reminds me of the Hellfire armor from FO3...only in gold color.
The Dwarven armor is a bit bulky for my tastes but there isn't a great selection of armor, IMO.

Just go lesbian! start feminism early:oldrazz:

And farkas and Vilkas looks like a couple of creeps...and that's not just because of their eyeliners.

I think the Dwarven, Ebony and Daedric armors look awesome.

Those are great, but my fav has got to be the wolf armor...hands down.
it's got the best design, color scheme...and in all my three times playing this game, i almost always wear it ( and i'm talking about the original, not the modded ones who makes female characters loooks like medieval prostitutes)

I'm at the point where I can marry, but am holding off. I never use companions as habit since in Oblivion they were idiots who got in my way. The one I fought with in Skyrim seemed competent, but way to gung-ho. I like the option of running away to re-stealth rather than worrying about leaving a partner to die. So when I read that spouses can only be killed by you, and are loyal it peaked my interest. Plus you get a shop, and free money.

I'm just having a hard time choosing. Should it be someone pretty, but worthless in battle, or the reverse? Aela the huntress seems like a good choice, Werewolf, ranged, and invulnerable, but her tattoo annoys me. There seem to be plenty of melee girls, but melee partners always get in my way.

the only way i noticed to lose a companion not just a spouse, is by the player killing them, usually when their health goes down they just yield and get left alone. Not really sure about harder levels of difficulty though. I do wish for a better companion tactic system though

I'm playing the PS3 version, and the game completely locked up on me while I was on my way to Whiterun. I downloaded the 92 MB patch that supposedly fixes this before it happened, so...yeah. I don't know. It's also stuttered on me a few times. It's smoothed out now (I'm on the Golden Claw quest), but I'm saving often from here on.

If you get married, they don't HAVE to become a companion to you. They can just hang out at home and make meals for you.

The companions in Skyrim doesn't really gets in the way IMO. Their combat AI seems to make them almost always start combat with ranged weapons.

Lydia,Aela, Jordis the swordmaiden etc all makes good combat companions. Just give them good equipments and you're good to go.

:awesome:

No, companions def still get in the way. I found it frustrating enough as a warrior with my first character, but now that I'm specialising in Archery it's even worse.... They seem to like copping arrows to the head. I wish there was a command system like in New Vegas.

Companions are really useful at lower levels for getting you out of tough spots or for just using them to carry your stuff, but you get to a point where you really don't need them at all.

hey guys and gals......

is it just me, but does the PS3 version look extremely "muddy" and blurry texture-wise compared to the 360 version?

I've finally had the chance to compare the 2 versions side by side. switching between the 2 versions is a world of difference, for me at least. The 360 version is so much "crisper" and the PS3 just looks so muddy, especially when viewing people/objects from a distance.

for instance, right at the beginning, when you are a prisoner standing in line as Hadvar calls out the names, on the PS3, Hadvar and the Imperial Captain look blurry and muddy. But, on the 360, that same scene is so much crisper and clearer.

anyone else experience this?

is this yet another area where they dropped the ball on the PS3 version?

I don't think it's a console thing.

The first time I played Skyrim on Xbox, that first execution scene did not look that great at all. However, when I started my second playthrough I was completely surprised by how much better it looked. It made a huge difference.

It seems that sometimes Skyrim just wants to look however it wants to look. I notice it a lot when entering certain towns too, like Whiterun or Windhelm. Sometimes it just blows me away, the textures and the colours, and other times it's like you said, muddy.

thanks.

hmmmm......that's interesting. I'll try reloading my PS3 save then..........see if that makes a difference.

Okay, so I have a 17000 bounty in Windhelm. Whats a quick way of making money?

I'm not sure if I have a texture glitch or if this is the same for everyone. I have Skyrim downloaded to my Xbox.

In the distance, waterfalls are always these still images that look pretty bad, I have to get fairly close to them before they move and look like actual waterfalls.

Is this the same for everyone?

Sell, sell, sell. Particularly any armor and weapons that you find, and potions that you create. Have you looted any caves with bandits recently? You can usually find a heap to sell there.

I can actually craft Ebony armor and sell them, but they can't afford it and I don't feel like using perks to add only 1500 gold to them.

Sell what you can to shopkeepers who tend to have the most gold, sleep til the next day and then do it again?

That could work, though I wonder if their gold will respawn the next day.

I can buy 6 ebony ignots for 1000 and sell Ebony armor for 2300.
