Elder Scrolls V - Part 4

I hated the lack of reaction to your character upon making decisions. For example, I wanted to see what would happen if I joined the Legion, so I did and then walked up to Ulric and there was no change in dialogue nor did he or his men react to me, the enemy strolling into the castle. WTH?

I agree. That left something to be desired. Although when I joined the Stormcloaks and wandered upon an Imperial camp they all attacked me. Better than nothing

Yeah, that's friggin stupid. You should be thrown into prison if you enter the Palace of the Kings after you've joined the Legion. Instead, he doesn't care and you can even ask him how the war is going. Your character is such a dick.

Same goes for joining the Stormcloaks and entering the Castle Dour.

Since you could still switch after getting the Jagged Crown, if you go into the other's headquarters, guards should surround you and Ulfric/Tulius say, "You're either very brave or foolish to come here. You better have a good reason." and then the option to give them the Jagged Crown and join the Legion/Stormcloaks come up. Also would have been cool if doing this allowed you to play as a double agent and do things like steal plans/weapons or sabotage instead of the usual storming camps/forts.

That does sound kind of lame. I haven't joined either side yet so I haven't encountered that. The least they could've done is offer some kind of flimsy excuse for why neither side would attack you if you were affiliated with the opposite side. Like your position grants you some diplomatic technicality. Or maybe just have the people in the opposite side's territories talk smack about you when you walk around.

Yea i agree with the consequence part, but only slightly. How the hell does anyone else know I'm part of the Dark Brotherhood? Isn't that, you know, secret?

The thing with Skyrim, is yea it has its problems, but they're overlooked because there aren't many games out there that are better.
Well its a dead give away when you are wearing the armor. I found that odd that characters dong react to that as well. Some occasionally made comments to my character being in the Thieves Guild bc I was wearing the armor, but it didnt change how they interacted with me. I would have expected the guards to maybe be a bit more hostile when you go out flaunting your membrship witht he Dark Brotherhood by wearing their gear in public

If everyone paid attention to your gear people would complain that they couldn't wear their badass thieves guild/brotherhood armor everywhere because they were always getting attacked/mistreated.

Skyrim isn't perfect... but it was, IMHO, easily the best game of 2011.

that would just be the price that you pay and would make more sense. I wouldnt have minded it. If Im trying to be in a secret organization, changing my clothing in public so that I keep it a secret, wouldnt have been a bad idea.

I wouldn't mind it either.. but in the grand scale of things I really feel IGN is stretching it to b&m about Skyrim.

IGN does it for page reads and attention. Like I said, they love to troll their readers.

That's why I never read their editorial. Sometimes, they do this stuff just to piss off readers or start flame wars.

Giant Bomb and NeoGAF, those two are all I'll ever need.

Wow, I definitely want this. If only there were a way to bring mods to console :P *Sigh*

Microsoft would never allow it and considering how broken the game is on the PS3, its probably a good thing Bethesda didnt implement it

The damage is based on your character's skill so it will vary for everyone. Plus it's not upgraded (not sure if it is upgradable though). Though you can enchant it for the necessary Shock/Frost damage.

Bethesda said before release that they were actively looking for a way to get mods onto consoles, but that it wouldn't be ready at launch. I doubt it will happen, but who knows.

I would give anything for the turn spiders into bears mod. :(

Matt, whilst I understand your arachnaphobia, surely you must agree that the idea of Spiderbears, who descend from the ceiling on a web, is ten times more terrifying than any spider!

If you don't like spiders, then shouldn't you like killing them?

That is one thing I hope gets improved in future games. Spiders. Bears. Wolves. The enemies are to plain to me sometimes. They need more fantastical animals to fight.

I don't mind the various animals, however I do think there are WAY to many wolves. After a while they become more like mosquitoes, just irritating and numerous.
