Correction...i don't REALLY like bethesda, i just hate whiny gamers....or their over inflated sense of consumer entitlement.

Man im 110% with ya, i DESPISE the whining that runs rampant within the consumers of this industry. I mean no where else will you find the level of cry baby that you do within the video game industry, but this might be the only instance where its justified. I mean the PS3 version of this game is broken. Period. So much so, that Bethesda might not even be able to get PS3 owners DLC that the other versions get. Sony deserves blame for making a console thats a pain in the ass to dev for, but Bethesda needs blame as well considering they knew what they were getting into. They've had experience with that machine.

Totally. People *****ing about on-disc DLC, or demanding a new ending for ME3, or whatever are a pain in the ass. However, all of the PS3 owners vs. Skyrim stuff was/is completely legitimate. I sold my PS3 copy because of how bad it got and bought it for the 360 instead (though I have had a hard time getting back into it once I did). I'm especially glad I did now because I would be so pissed if they release an awesome-big expansion and I couldn't get it just because they were unable to wrap their minds around programming for the PS3.

`

The problems being is..that these whiners refuse to accept the fact that Bethesda is not THE ONLY one to blame in this case. Sony design flaws for PS 3 s also to blame.

The knee-jerk reaction to automatically screams: F-YOU ( insert dev name here) that pissed me off the most. All it would take is just little research to see that the problem is bigger than just 'Beth screwed up!'

Anyway...i'm tired of explaining over and over again why it takes two to tango...

So yeah... I'm out!

I completely agree 100%. People have every reason to complain and be upset at the situation here. Gamers complain about more trivial stuff but in this case, its a serious issue and shouldnt be just brushed aside and accepted. Why should Bethesda get a pass for releasing a broken game? They're a great developer, one of the best in fact, but the fact is, the PS3 release doesnt work properly and not nearly on the same level as the other platforms . Had this been some other less revered developer, people would be complaining and it would seem more acceptable, but its Bethesda, so they shall not be touched. Huh?

anyone else impatiently waiting for this add-on like i am?...

Let this beautifully epic score tide us over, or get us back into the game, which is exactly what I need to do. Haven't played Skyrim since January or something.

I was initially decided not to get into this again...but i thought that sentence deserved a response, especially since i'm the only one providing argument for 'the other side' so to speak.

First off, i'm NOT a blind, raging Bethesda fanboy( i'm more of a raging NEXUS fanboy, but that's a whole different story:oldrazz:) During this whole back and forth, i didn not just simply say: leave Beth alone! i personally thought i made a good enough argument..even provided technical specs on why i thought that try to fit Skyrim into PS3 hardware is like trying to fit a 400 pounds gorilla into a toolbox.

I've also thought that i've provided what i thought the reason why they decided to release the game on your fav platform anyway, despite the technical challenge.

On the other hand, the responses i get is can be summed up to : 'meh...they released a broken game...*shrugs*

So...like i said, i've never said that you can't critize Beth in this situation. What i'm saying that it takes two to Tango, and in this case, Sone PS3 design should also share the blame.

In any case, keep arguing about this is pointless at this point.

So...i'm off...playing Dawnguard!

Hmm..why even include achievements for this DLC...

Seems kinda pointless...

That sounds so boring

I agree.

I'm not even sure I'll bother at all. Cheap or not, I don't think I want to pay any amount of money for three predetermined plots of land and the ability to adopt a (probably) useless kid.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/elder-scrolls-v/achievements/

Hearthfire achievements are out giving an insight into the content (kind of what we already knew).

- Adopt a child
- Buy a plot of land
- Build 3 wings on a house
- Buy 3 plots of land
- Build 3 houses

I just got around to finding telekensis. I'm too busy beating Nazeem with potatoes to build my own house. I'm getting this when it comes out though and since will likely need lots of cash for it my compulsive hoarding of special armour/weapons (with my 100 smithing and enchanting) will help fund my houses.

What's the point of being able to adopt a kid when you can't even kill them in non-modded games?

:word:

It's not like the DLC is compulsory... It is however extremely cheap, very soon to be released after the last batch of DLC and will provide a lot of new options for people who really get into the world/character building aspect of an RPG.

This.

Not everybody plays just to finish all the quests.

What other achievements could they have done, though? There's not much you can do with a build-a-house DLC achievement wise. I imagine each plot and house pieces, etc. cost gold, so unless you're rich as balls off the bat it'll take at least some effort to save up enough gold to buy that many places.

I haven't even thought of that. Damn, i dont have that much coin, like maybe 18k? I hope i can afford this stuff. I mean iv got a TON of valuable items, but finding vendors who have the money i need will be tough.

And that'll be part of the fun, IMO. It'll be a lot more rewarding to have "earned" your various houses rather than just downloading them and plopping them into the game. Some houses in Skyrim cost 50k cold IIRC, which can take forever to save up unless you're with the Thieves guild. I won't be surprised if the plots get exponentially more expensive like the actual Skyrim houses, too, so it might take more time to get the achievement for all 3 plots and such.

That's why I think those achievements are fine the way they are. They'll take time and they won't be completely effortless. Hell, I didn't even expect any achievements at all with Hearthfire, so I'm pleasantly surprised.

Yea i agree. I wish we could sell our houses that we own.
