Back in 02 when I first got Morrowind, it was amazing. It stayed amazing for a while too, probably until 2006 when Oblivion released.

But I did notice something pretty sweet in Oblivion. If you go to the Imperial City (Market District to be exact) There are red banners on some of the buildings with the Skyrim symbol on them. :awesome:

That symbol was in Morrowind as well. Even on the box art.

Even though Bethesda would never do it. How awesome would it have been to import your Oblivion character into Skyrim (Oblivion + completed Shivering Isles) and it turns out that the new mad god had set the stage for the events of Skyrim and essentially pulled a huge Batman Gambit involving the Dragonborn stopping or defeating Aludin (His destroyer form that is).

I mean c'mon. You become a god and just dick around with storm clouds in your own realm or just have the ability TO SUMMON THE BUTLER OF DOOM!

EDIT:
My list of other wishes that Bethesda will probably never fulfill.
1. Dragon as a pet and mount. Control with SIX-AXIS and breathe fire/energy on your foes!
2. Ability to turn into a Werewolf with full benefits.
3. Spells that allow transformation into ANY monster including bosses at highest skill
4. The ability to color your offensive spells. Green Fire, Pink Lightning etc.
5. Color your clothing. Dyes existed back then plus it's fantasy

Also, would anyone ever want to see a Elder Scrolls 3000 AD of sorts. Think energy swords, crystalline cities, aircraft and laser guns. NO DARK/GRITTY nonsense. Or a Steampunk variant for that matter?

Because Lair was just sooo great, right? I'm kidding, but I'm not going to play on PS3, so I don't really have an opinion one way or the other on Six Axis functionality.

2. Ability to turn into a Werewolf with full benefits.

That would be cool, but I only want them to include the vampire/werewolf stuff if they do it right this time. The way they handled vampirism in Oblivion was so half-assed compared to Morrowind.

Basically a Wabbajack you can use on yourself? Sure, why not.

4. The ability to color your offensive spells. Green Fire, Pink Lightning etc.

I wouldn't use that feature, but I wouldn't mind if it was included.

5. Color your clothing. Dyes existed back then plus it's fantasy

That would be cool. But it's not something I would use unless they have it like in Morrowind where you could wear clothing underneath your armor.

No. I would rather have "dark/gritty nonsense" than what you're suggesting here.

Yes! The Elder Scrolls has some fairly significant steampunk elements already, and since I love steampunk, I wouldn't mind even more of it.

I have the box and I never noticed that. God, I'm dumb. Weird that Bethesda put so many of those symbols around.

I just put the SIX-AXIS comment because I remembered Lair as you said. I'm pretty sure the X-Box players will have to flap their hands to mimic wings and shout into the kinect mic to use attacks or actual dragon shouts (FUS-DO-RAGH!!).

But seriously, I believe there will be mounts in the game besides horses.
Ooh! Skyrim horse armor as DAY 1 DLC.

The horses in Oblivion were very boring. The dragon mount was alot more fun.
World Of Warcraft does a good job with mounts, aside from being varied, you unlock race/faction mounts through a seperate experience bar to gain rep. This would make the diffrent factions more meaninful as well as add abit of deph to how the overall world works.

The horses in Oblivion weren't just boring, they straight up sucked. It would be cool to have a lot of mounts like in WoW, but I would be content to have just one that doesn't suck. :P

have they said if vampires will be in Skyrim?

how cool would it be if you could choose to start out as a vampire?

Horses sucked bad. It was just a slightly faster way of getting places. And using them uphill, forget it. That's one thing I REALLY hated about Oblivion. Going up a hill was an immense pain in the ass to find the one area you could do it.

Oblivion just had lots of bad game design imo. It's more quantity than quility . When it launched alot of people (including myself) were mostly overwelmed with the pretty graphics and amount of game content just over-looking all the bad stuff. In restrospect, it has a ton of blunders. Same thing will happen again. Lots of "oh ah's" and critics throwing out 9's, then a year or two later some clear headed objective thinking.

Inr egards to PC vs console...generally I pick PC for this kind of game. I mean...compare Oblivion...the PC version with the high res texture mod compeltely blew away the console version...so much so that I ended up selling the console version I owned just to get the PC one. :)

I was disappointed with Oblivion from day one, but I didn't actively dislike until about a month or so after release. And I'm surprised you would say Oblivion was "quantity over quality". There was significantly less of everything in Oblivion than Morrowind.

I enjoyed playing as a vampire, but it needs improvements. Don't mess with my face too much, more powers, different combat and movement controls, and let me feed whenever I like. I would like to be dangerous in unarmed combat, use my agility/strength/speed/and all my abilities when I'm on the hunt, fighting, and feeding. Overall, just make it cooler.

You know I actually agree with you.

And they have a word for what you describe. It's called dated.

But Morrowind was a better game.

Agreed. Morrowind a lot more content. More factions, more quests, more weapon variety, and more varied environments. It's amazing to go to the west part of vvardenfell to the south part, to east part, and to the west part to see all completely different lands.

Going to Sadrith Mora (the first telvanni town I ever saw) was awesome because it was so odd from the rest of vvardenfell.

Man, I feel like ordering Morrowind from Amazon and playing it again. is it BC on the 360?

Yes. I actually just did that myself. :woot: Snagged a used copy for two bucks and change.

This makes the... fifth or sixth time I've bought that damn game.
