speesh, I can't find the GotY edition used for under 30 bucks... :-/

You guys are making me want to play Morrowind again but I know if I do I'll probably be disappointed. I definitely enjoyed it more than Oblivion not that I didn't like Oblivion but the game seemed all together smaller after having played Morrowind. Oblivion looked nicer but at the end of the day, not as good. My two cents.

Yeah, I just went for the regular version. I thought about getting the GOTY, if only because the textures are sharper, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something I'm probably not going to play very much of.

I am dangerously close to ordering the Oblivion 5th anniversary edition. I played Morrowind but skipped Oblivion and I need something to tide me over until the holiday releases... It's old and buggy and has a weird leveling system, but Skyrim is giving me the itch to finally pick it up.

The Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild quests are great. The Mages Guild quests are also good. That other guild kinda sucked though. Especially since you had to travel around so ****ing much. Like the quest giver would be in Anvil and the quest would be to go to some cave between Bruma and Cheydinhal (complete opposite ends of the map).

The Dark Brotherhood quests were the best and most fun quests of the game.

They should allow us to form our own guild, after finishing all other guilds. We get to name it and all! Mine, of course, would be the Lollipop Guild, we would have representatives.

Good thing I didn't buy Morrowind GotY edition because my buddy has it and said he'd just give it to me to keep since he never plays it nor does he ever intend to play it again. Score.

I couldnt go through Morrowind again. WAY too ugly. A buddy of mine was playing it a few years ago, back when we roomed together and i remember commenting how awful it looked back then.

see, I think Oblivion (character model wise) looked super ugly... even on launch. From what I remember from Borrowing the story and game is just flat out better than Oblivion...in fact, I was let down by Oblivion coming off of Morrowind, lol.

Mine was regardless of how they look they're still good games... Morrowind just happens to be the better game.

His seemed to be it's visually worse, which had a more detrimental effect.
Which would be correct. By comparison Oblivions models look and have aged better. What you think was a better game is moot. The visuals are off-putting even to people who enjoy it.

Personally, I think making the game more stylized would have helped both Morrowind and Oblivion considerably. Like teh World Of Warcrafts.

Eh... generally I agree that most games could benefit from using a more stylized design, but I like TES to look realistic.

Besides, I'll have Reckoning for my "open world RPG with an exaggerated art style" needs.

Oh, God, no! I HATE WoW's design. (and it has nothing to do with it being WoW. I don't hate Wow, I just don't like MMOs in general.) If TES took that look, I would have to cry myself to sleep for a few months. Maybe take a therapy lesson. Then, when I got better, I would beat the crap out of Todd Howard for allowing it.

Then cry.

Yea, WoW has always looked like garbage. The only time it looked half way interesting was on South Park. Id hate if Elder Scrolls ever ended up looking like that.

I think it looks far more interesting than anything in Oblivion.
The reason I and alot of people like Morrowind is basically because it's like World Warcraft with dramatically changing (and generally) visually interesting enviroments. Oblivion basically looks like an english countryside for most the enviroments with interchangable dungeons and gates.

If you're talking about the variety and type of landscapes, fair enough, but I agree with Pat, as far as graphics and visual style, I don't want TEH to look anything like that. The only game I've enjoyed that looked similar was Darksiders, and even that was miles above WoW visually and stylistically.

I'm not implying it should be exactly like that, just abit more style applied. It helps with older, less graphically intensive games. Besides that, World Of Warcraft stands out from the crowd. All of Blizzards games do. You automatically reconize there games simply by looking at them. When I saw Skyrim, Age of Conan is what came to mind.

I respect your opinion. However, I don't agree.
It basically looks like World Of Warcraft with better graphics. And when I play it I don't think "this is miles above world of warcraft". I think "This is kinda like World Of Warcraft" putting it's art direction in front of Darksiders. I suspect it's probably the same with everyone else who plays it regardless of the artist involved.

Get a premium Skyrim map with your preorder

Making real maps of our fantasy worlds is an Elder Scrolls tradition. As Todd Howard said all the way back in a Morrowind blog post, “There’s something about having a physical object in your hands that feels like it’s part of this other world, that you are that person in the game, finding your way among the hills.”

With that in mind, today we are announcing that anyone who preorders Skyrim will automatically receive a premium quality world map with their copy as a no-extra-cost-to-you bonus.

To guarantee your copy of your premium quality world map, please pre-order today.

Update: We’ve received plenty of questions about the map. So you know, it’s a high-grade material that has a feel similar to burlap, and will be available in North America and European territories. There will be a regular paper map included in all copies of the game, but if you want to get the premium map, we recommend pre-ordering the game.

The offer is on Amazon's listing. Just put my pre-order in. However, I'll change it to a collector's edition depending upon what's in that.
