Elder Scrolls V

Does ESO have similar production standards to Skyrim? I had assumed not.

I'm playing ESO right now and it's freaking great. It's basically Elder Scrolls with friends. Tackling things with buddies all in the familiar ES settings... So good.

I've been thinking about getting that for a while. Almost did, until I found out I need to pay another 15 bucks for DLC, if I want to be able to play any race, regardless of faction. Now I'm waiting for the price to drop. But it's good to hear that it's a fun game.

Its Elder Scrolls not Skyrim. Anyone going into it expecting an online Skyrim will be in for a dissappointment bc it doesnt have the same look or feel. From what little I played of it, it felt more reminiscent of Oblivion to me

It's fun if you played the old games. Lots of callbacks.

I only played Oblivion. How long was it? Im thinking of possibly tackling it or trying Fallout NV

Well I'm not asking it in the sense of is it you as a player taking your own created character into the world of Skyrim, but rather, is the gameplay similar to that style. Because from what I've seen, visiually they look similar.

And another reason I mention Skyrim in particular is because I never played any of the other Elder Scrolls games, or any Bethesda game in general, so that's my only frame of reference.

From what I've gathered, the Developers listened to a lot of the fan feedback, and changed the game accordingly. Now the gameplay is closer to Skyrim, and apparently works ideal for the console version of the game. Haven't read about other stuff like crafting and such.

Skyrim was really cool, I'd never played that type of game before, but ESO doesn't interest me at all. Not sure why since I haven't played it. I'll just wait for Elder Scrolls 6 or Skyrim 2 or whatever lol

Plays just like Skyrim... with a touch of Oblivion. Mostly because it deals a lot with the daedra being ***** again. The choosing any race for any area/pact SHOULD be part of early copies. It's also pretty busy with basically zero lag. Looking for a group is easy because there's always enough people. Not that I've ever really needed one but it's easy to get into one if need be.

Made a Guild on Daggerfall. If anyone gets it feel free to join that faction and give me a shout. I'll add anyone that wants to play.

Honestly if you like Elder Scrolls theres zero reason to not like ESO. Anyone that hates on it for any reason (more so since the console release) hasn't played it or just dislikes ES. It's exactly like pretty much every ES game I've ever played.. With friends.

Well... I just pulled the motherflippin trigger. I want to go on an adventure, and FFXIV won't let me, with it's ongoing maintenance that prevents me from playing since the 19th. And I read some reviews, and most range from good to great. So I'll be jumping into the game, once the whoopin 40GB download is done.

Might join you Benstamania, planning to join Daggerfall as well. Gonna play Breton.

*Edit*

Oh, wait, you don't have a PS4.

I just don't know if I'd like the whole othet people running around with me stuff.. I really enjoyed the single player stuff of Skyrim, it's what got me so into it. I just imagine a bunch of people running around being a nuisance lol.

Perhaps I'll give it a rent after I get sick of the new Batman game.

This is why I don't relally liked online games. Like I've been getting into GTA Online recently, and I only play missions on my own. If an online game would let me do that, I don't mind. It's when you're forced to play alongside others that it bothers me.

That's not to say I don't think multiplayer should exist. I think it would be quite to see a group of three or four people do some cool stuff together, but personally, I enjoy playing on my own more.

It's just cool to see. I mean I literally walked to the capital city two days ago before I bought my mount. It too me 55 real life minutes. I could see people off in the distance fighting.. Up on a mountain facing some dragon looking thing but in front of me was vast open wilderness. Got to Westway in Stormhelm and it was BUSY.. people everywhere.. it felt like a capital city should. Not a bit of slow down.

There are people all around you.. but don't think it hinders you. I like that Proxy is there.. You can turn it off BUT I had it on one day randomly and a guy was running the opposite way I was going just happened to say "Don't go that way man. High level monster event."

Saved my butt, lol.

Nah I'm on XB1. Probably should have stated that. It's ok though because if you're looking for an Elder Scrolls game.. or just fantasy adventure. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I'm playing alone right now and it just feels like Skyrim..

Probably because of the snow... And loneliness.

Yeah I totally get what you're saying. GTA online is a good example because you can play solo while online and still have fun, but since they've added the heists in the multiplayer aspect is really needed in those. That's a fun game to play online when you have friends to play it with and I assume ESO would be as well, but I don't know anyone personally who I'd play with and I don't like joining up with randoms lol.

I'm gunna rent the game somewhere down the line and see how I like it though, because I got a load of hours of fun playing Skyrim. I only put that down after beating every storyline I could find, clearing all the dungeons and mountaind I came across, beating all the masked priest guys, and after crafting daedric armors and weapons. Then there wasn't really much else to do.

I'll be mainly treating this as a co-op game. Sure, there are players all around the place, but I mainly plan to play this with my brother-in-law. And since there's no subscription fee, I can take my sweet time and not feel pressured to play it.

Need to see if some in my friends list play it too. I don't want to group too often, but I watched some clips on Youtube, and taking on a boss with 3 friends just looked like a blast.

Question, I know Skyrim was the Dragon centered game, but are there any in ESO?

Well, just skimmed the net, Dragons might possibly not ever show up, if they stick to canon. Since Dragons ruled during the Dragon Era, then were eventually all killed off, and later resurrected by Alduin in the 4th Era. So, since ESO takes place somewhere in between, it'll be a miracle if a Dragon ever shows up. Bit of a bummer, but not a deal breaker.

Yeah, I've played the heists and it gets frustrating when you have a to wait more than 5-10 minutes for other players to join, only to be kicked out of a mission if one leaves. Its things that like that that make me hesitant to get something like the Division since that sounds lke it's purely going to be a multiplayer game without the option for solo play outside of a team.

I don't have a PS4 yet, but I'm at lest interested in this game. I might rent it as well to try it out first though.

If/When you go next-gen, PS4 is the way to go. I got mine back in October and I love it. It's just insane the difference from 360 to PS4.

Yeah ES is a stickler for canon. But I read they may have events that take our characters to the past and maybe the future.

Already happens (the past) in the game. So.. I guess we'll see.

I think I hate this game more than any game in history. I don't know if it's good or bad. I assume good. I do know that since buying it on my PS4 my girlfriend hasn't let me touch either my PS4 or my TV. Game can't possibly be that good. It's impossible that it could warrant that much attention
