Daredevil Elektra casting and discussion thread

Hi everyone,

Genuinely surprised we don't have an elektra thread yet so I thought I would kick it off.

Who would you like to see play elektra? I love the idea of Gemma chan playing her. She has such a frank miller sequel look, she's an amazing actress and visually very distinct from Jennifer garner

My main desire is that Elektra be played by an actual Greek woman, there must be a healthy amount of Mediterranean beauties with the ability to act and be physical, right?

It would be awesome if Elektra was played by an actual Greek this time (unfortunately my knowledge of Greek cinema is next to nothing). However, I'd be willing to settle for anyone who can convincingly pull off the "Mediterranean" look. Basically, someone who doesn't look so "American" like Jennifer Garner did.

Er...sorry. I always thought elektra was asian or Eurasian for some reason. Her Greek origins make more sense now I think about it.

How about Mary tsoni instead?

I actually think Olivia Munn could be a decent Elektra, not that I think it's gonna happen, just a thought. She's grown as an actress since back in the day when people scoffed at the speculation that she'd be playing Wasp in Iron Man 2. Check her out in The Newsroom.

I like Olivia Munn. I just don't see her as Elektra. Wouldn't be surprised if they offer her a part in a Marvel film soon though.

Although she's Argentinian, she looks convincingly Greek and actually looks like the comic book character. She also has played a kick ass character before in Alias. They should've gotten her the first time round instead of her onscreen sister, Jennifer Garner.

I don't see Elektra in the Daredevil show, but I see her as one of Kingpin's main henchmen in The Defenders.

She looks enough like Ultimate Elektra. If i actually cared, i could find more pictures that look similar to OP's suggestion, but this was just one i found after 10 seconds of google image searching

Also, i think OP's suggestion has a face that conveys some of the qualities i'd imagine Elektra having if she were real. OP's suggestion looks like a mysterious badass.

Actually, no, I don't. The first season doesn't need Elektra. It'll have plenty enough material with establishing Daredevil's own story.

I do, it's MUCH more interesting with her around. Then she can get her own show after The Defenders and DD can continue on without her in season 2.

I disagree. She's a super talented comedic actor. Her character on The Newsroom is this spaced out and overly enthusiastic socially mal adjusted weirdo and she's ****ing phenomenal in that role.

But yeah, I can't see her as Elektra.


Really, I think Elektra should be played by someone who's actually Greek.
