Ellis on Thunderbolts??

mmmhmm. I've noticed you getting into DC recently and if you think this idea has potential, I reccomend you to read the whole Suicide Squad series from the late 80s. Very, very good stuff. I've only read a few issues, but it's amazing. I was talking to my music teacher (of all people) about it and he said that it didn't get bad really at all. It was cancled on a high note.

spunk ya for the heads up

Eh, don't think I'll pick it up either. I liked T-bolts and have nothing against the 'new' guys, but just not as a team. I mean I have a hard time imagining those guys setting around, Venom and Bullseye talking about how much they hate whoever. I mean I like Venom by himself, I like Bullseye as a villain, but I just can't see all of them as a team, let alone the banter they'll give out as they beat ppl down.

Edit - While I liked (and still do) New Avengers, it almost just seems their applying that formula everywhere, now their just sticking the popular villains with no real home in a book together on a team.

I will tho listen to you guys reviews on it. I'm willing to give it a try but only if I'm hearing good things, doesn't sound like something I'd like but have been wrong before.

Like I said. Another reason for me to not like this book. And despite the fact I originally mistook Moonstone for someone else (Moonstone being one of my favourite characters), that still doesn't redeem this book.
So I'm not the only one. I also wonder if anyone else liked the costume Moonstone made when she got the second Moonstone. I liked it and actually made a skin of it for the game Freedom Force. Never actually played it though.

Lose the Leather Jacket. That is soooo 90's.

After reading most of the articles about this upcoming change,I'm really stoked.Sure DC has already done this, but I don't think Marvel has done anything of this nature before.3 of the most saddistic villainsin the MU in a team book?

Now I know which Marvel book I'm adding after Punisher War Journal and Iron Fist.

yayzzz11!

I just might pick this up.

Well, if your outfit is that skin tight, you're going to need a jacket from time to time. I mean, skin tight clothing is, for obvious reasons, not good for the cold. That's the reason Animal Man started wearing a jacket. That, and his costume didn't have any pockets. And yet, no one complains about his look.

Yeah, but he can't create his own atmosphere around him either. She doesn't need it. It hides her ass. And we can't have that.

Oh yeah. She can survive in space, can't she?

MK was too decompressed IMO.But I know Darth and alot of people love it to death on here so I expect flaming in 3...2....

Ellis, while a great writer with his own creations, can't write established stuff without pissing on previous writer's work & creations. The guy spits on continuity so he can tell "his" story.

So F***k you Ellis... try not to screw up these bad guys. :whatever: :whatever: :whatever:

:cmad:

Yeah, Moonstone's costume is as sucktastic as I feared it eas going to be.:(

"New" New Thunderbolts vs "Old" New Avengers

Captain America vs Bullseye
Ironman vs Penance
Sentry vs Radioactive Man
Spider-Man vs Green Goblin
Wolverine vs Venom
Luke Cage vs Swordsman
Spider-Women vs Songbird

Well.... Since I don't know much about Penance, I would'nt know what to say. I'll simply assume he's fire based, so IM wins that one.

Cap wins
Sentry decimates
Green Goblin would provide a hefty fight, with no clear winner.
Wolverine
Luke
Songbird.

So that leaves Cap, Tony, Wolvie, and Cage with Spidey still in conflict and Songbird their only opposing force. Forgot, Sentry's there too. Sentry assists Spider-Man, while the others probably get fended off by Songbird, until the other two are free to take her down.

Warren Ellis on MU continuity books can be...hard to take. His own stuff? Instant classic. Any other title...it can be a problem.

Part of me really likes the idea of such dangerous characters (Bullseye, Venom (Gargan), Green Goblin) on the same team written by a guy who can have a field day with these psychos. Not to mention an artist the caliber of Mike Deodato who can backup every ounce o'crazy. Thunderbolts deals with villains and should have a dangerous element to it. The cast is there and Ellis scares folks. Just a fact. I actually feel bad for whatever poor sucker(s) who are going to run into this gang. Seriously, the series hasn't started yet and I'm feeling something.

Bullseye and Venom on the same team! This is like a 90's wetdream provided GG got a big Cable size gun that shoots pumpkin bombs and razor bats! Or, even better, a pumpkin bomb that explodes into razor bats! And taffy!

With that said there's the continuity problem. Now I couldn't give less of a damn if Ellis doesn't remember GG's team-up with the Enforcers in the desert and they met Hulk and yadda, yadda, yadda or any other stories which shouldn't effect jack now. I'm talking about the characters here. Moonstone, Songbird, Osborn...they carry a lot of baggage in their history. I'm not worried about Ellis not knowing or caring about minor events, I worry they won't be developed from where there characters are now. That's all.

Other than that, the old TB's taking a break doesn't bother me. It's a great idea that has went on too long, IMHO.

And I kind of wish that Doc Ock was the team leader instead of Osborn, but at least GG has a reason for being out of Spidey's hair...for now at least.

Im really don't know if I should buy thunderbolts because of this or not. Those are some nice pages. Dang but I don't know if I can trust Ellis enough to buy it.
