Daredevil Elodie Yung IS Elektra!

Made some adjustments

I think Elodie Yung was partly raised in England, so I believe that's basically her natural accent.

She sounds exactly like Eva Green in Casino Royale, ie an french woman speaking with a partial somewhat OTT english accent.

Though as TheVileOne says this could be her natural accent as she spent time here it seems.

I really liked what I've seen so far as Elodie Yung's Elektra. They captured that spirit of her being this dark, exotic, alluring and dangerous woman. Jennifer Garner just never had that.

The fight scenes I saw so far with her looked great.

Well she didn't get the Greek accent... but I like what I see in the trailer. I'd rather have an Elektra who can pull off the stunts than one who sounds like how I imagined her.

I don't think the Greek accent is important. I never got the sense that Elektra spoke with a Greek accent in the comics. I think it's important that she come off as foreign and mysterious and I think they got that.

Well, she never had a Greek accent in the comics to me because I have no idea what a Greek accent sounds like ;)

The important thing is it sounds foreign and exotic. She mentioned having an accent coach, but I'd rather it not sound fake. No matter what, it's better than the movie.

Here you go. She sounds like this but a bit more British.

I'm sure you can go back 13 years ago and find posts from me on why Garner was miscast as Elektra.

And I believe Garner is a gorgeous beautiful and sexy woman. However, at the risk of sounding like a misogynist, there is just a certain type for Elektra that Garner didn't really fit. They cast her because she was sort of the IT girl at the time and capitalizing on her Alias popularity. IMHO, it was a mistake for that character. Then again the movie got a lot wrong. If all that didn't have happened we may never be where we are today and have this outstanding Daredevil show.

Elodie Yung just sort of fits that foreign, exotic and dark type that Elektra should exude.

I know everyone's all hyped for the Punisher, but this is easily the character I'm most excited about this season. Loved her in the trailer.

From what I know of Elektra from the comics, isn't Yung's depiction of her seems a tad less... reserved than normally is? The Elektra I know is generally more stoic and standoffish. Yung's Elektra seems more reminiscent of Widow in her interactions with Matt.

Makes sense actually. Widow was one of Matts love interests. But she cant really be afforded to appear on Netflix so...yeah.

Certain writers write her to be a little more lively. They are definitely taking some characterization from Miller's Man Without Fear, where she was more wild than when he originally wrote her. Like the fight in the apartment. Then there is the mysterious and guarded feeling when she's waiting for Matt in his apartment which is more typical for the character.

Me too, from the moment she was announced I've been anticipating seeing her. Elodie looks like she's killing this role though she is a bit more outgoing than I believed her to be in the comics but I love it! The only thing that bothers me is that outfit she fights in. I don't need her to be in an outfit exactly like the comics but an all red something would be nice.

I should also add that Elektra, while usually can be mysterious and quiet, will also alter her mood/personality when she needs to get something from someone/has an agenda. She could very well be playing Matt like a fiddle.

What if she's a bit more lively in case Marvel want to do a spin-off show?

I don't see the BW resemblance at all. Maybe some similarities in that they're both conniving and highly capable, but Elektra is clearly bat**** crazy and more out there. Her wild side likely comes out when she's fighting and doing adult activities with Matt :crso:

She certainly seems a lot more lively than Widow. I like Scarlett in the role, but she's often very monotone and stoic.

Well, to be fair Widow is exactly that: stoic and calculated. She is the ultimate female spy.

As a Greek i can confirm that she doesn't have a Greek accent but she defnitely looks exotic. She could pass as a Greek in my country.

For the record, Elektra was alot more open, talkative and wild in her initial appearances.

They didn't make her the stoic, silent, ninja chick until after her resurrection.

Go back and read "Man Without Fear" and her first appearances.

I am with you FC. Outside of more Matt, she is definitely what I am most excited about.
