Enter the Dragon remake by Kurt Sutter

it'll be noir in style -- look, narrative devices (femme fatal, 1st person narrator, plot twists) -- not time or vernacular. the setting is today.

Well, he did DragonHeart, which is great, Daylight, which sucks, The Fast and the Furious, which sucks, XXX, which sucks, Stealth, which I've heard sucks, and is about to the third Mummy movie, following The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, which both suck.

Nevertheless, Cohen is still a step up from Steven Sommers.

I know what he did...I was looking for an answer. It just seems he made a couple of real solid films and then made some bad choices. Dragonheart was great, Daylight was a fun disaster flick (kind of silly but..fun), I enjoyed Fast & the Furious and XX. Stealth I saw was visually stunning but just a horrible plot, he didn't do Mummy 1 & 2 which I enjoyed as well. Rob Cohen has talent...it's just the material has been poor. Also David Twohy...WTF happend to him? That I would like to know.

rob cohen is a joke. i thought it was obvious... am i mistaken? im pretty sure he hired tyrese, signed vin diesel for TWO movies which should declare him clinically insane, and then we get into his 'talents'. talk about direction by the book, if you dont want to offend anyone, dont do anything new. ever. thats his motto, i swear.

oh yea and i hated every one of his movies.

^ He's not a joke...he's made a few bad choices. Hiring Vin Diesel for those two films at the peak of his career to date was genius and good casting in both parts. Since then Vin has had his share of bad choices.

It's a loose remake at best, based off the basic story, with a great deal of changes still, completely different style and purpose also.

I can't believe there's going to be a remake of Enter the Dragon. After reading the news on this, I don't know, I wasn't to happy about it. Why can't they just leave great films alone? ETD is one of my favorite martial arts movies, so I guess I'll wait and see how this one turns out.

This is similar to what I posted in the post about the "thing" remake. You should look at a remake as "wow its gonna be interesting to see how they can improve this" instead of the negative "the remake is gonna suck," nothing is perfect and there is always room for improvement.

Yea I know what you mean, Im about to go see Invasion (of the body snatchers) I loved the original, I forgot how the Donald Sutherland version was, but hopefully this one wont disappoint.

No but I'll have some by tomorow. I chat with Kurt all the time. He's super busy right now. One of his scripts for a TV show just got picked up. I did e-mail him so I'll let you know.

I personally never liked Bruce Lee's movies. I hated the "unbeatable quality" in his films no one was ever a challenge to him(sometimes(contributes to his ego), I hated that. At least Jackie Chan gets kicked around by his enemies.


...but as a Martial artis myself I give him the respect he deserves for his acheivements in the area of Martial arts.

The Docu-Drama Dragon: The Bruce Lee story was and is one of my favorite films.

bruce lee was one of a kind , i think the best thing to do would be to turn this into a loose sequel .

Ok he just told me like I thought he's super busy working on some Paramount project and he expects to start writing "Awaken the Dragon" in November and turn it in around early 08. Things could obviously change though.
