Revenge of the Fallen Epic Car Chase??

Okay, like many others I've been geeking out about all the new pictures of the cars being transported. And I've been thinking: We've seen most of the cars, but not any of the actors, which leads me to speculate. Are they going to film an epic car chase? Are they bringing out the cars to do most of the driving first, then film the acting? I assume that they are going to make an epic car chase scene. And when I say epic, I mean EPIC. I mean like a good ten minutes on film of just pure awesomeness with some insane stunts and wicked driving. Oh and a couple of explosions too. What do you guys think about this?

TBH the recent movement of the vehicles from Transformers is almost certainly nothing more than Bay & Co. just getting things ready for when they do start filming.

Michael Bay vowed he'd never do a highway chase again on the DVD. I hope this time, we can have lots more transforming back and forth during chase scenes: it'd be a more inventive way of using the environment.

I do like the idea of jazz having a fight and being thrown, landing as a car and then drving quickly back to land a punch, just like the opening of the cartoon...

That was one thing that i was surprised wasnt in the first movie, an absolute kick-ass, crazy car chase scene, so i would like to see it in the sequel, it would be awesome to see arms coming out of the cars pushing and punching at each other and things like that. I hope we get one in the sequel, preferrably between Ultra Magnus and Soundwave.

I certianly hope so. That was one of the very few HUGE disappointments for me in the first one. Bumblee and Barricade start taking off, and some badass music starts, then all they do is drive thru a dumb glass window.

I thought we were in for a Ronon Type Car chase or something...it was over like 15 seconds!

They need an EPIC, and I'm talking cars boosting over other cars, and mid transformation sticking your hand out and grabbing a light pole, the flying back the other way, transforming and burning rubber at 110 mph type of awesomeness.

I 100% agree. I was really surprised it wasn't in there. I thought it was going to be a given. Michael Bay's car chases (Bad Boys 2, The Island and The Rock) were phenomenal. This was the movie where I thought I would have seen the absolute BEST car chase, but all we got is a little broken glass (not counting the highway scene -- but that was not a car chase).

Transformers 2 must deliver!!!

Agreed, i was fully expecting something like that in TF, hopefully we get it in TF2, preferrably something like you mentioned in your last paragraph.

Possibly, but the highway isnt the only place a car chase can take place.

That's what I was thinking. Think of a chase taking place down the Las Vegas Strip. With cars racing past each other, transforming, boosting and fighting each other as casinos and other things zoom by in the background. Then they cut off the strip into back roads, causing havoc to all things around them. Then they screech back onto the strip as they reach their destination and then bust into an awesome fight.

In reference to the Bumblebee vs Barrivade 'car chase'...I often wondered if there was a longer version to that scene. Nightfall happened rather quickly after a chase that clearly started midday. I am still holding out hope that in some extended cut of Transformers (which I'm assuming would be released right before TF2) we get to see some sort of kick ass extended chase scene (if he is choosing NOT to include a chase scene in TF2).

Obviously, the reason for not having the chase scene is because Bumblebee had passengers and couldn't transform mid chase with them in the car. Fine, then leave the passengers out of the car chase or find some possible way of including them in the transformation process since they are now Earth vehicles.

A car chase does not have to happen on a highway (however that is really the only place you can achieve truly high speeds). Terminator 3's car chase scene was lovely. It incorporated neighborhoods and the business district, including elements of the environment in the chase!!!
Nonetheless, Transformers 2 will ROCK!!!

I think that the whole bumblebee, barricade chase going from day to night, was one of those movie magic moments. Like when blackout is flying in and it is day and when he lands it is night (keep in mind he was only five miles out). Even though I would love to see that chase be longer and more awesome, I'm not holding my breath. But if by chance they do make an extended cut and that is in that, I would die because of the awesomeness, I'm not getting too excited. Anyways, like you said TF2 will rock!

I have very low expectations for the next one, i get a feeling no one gives a hoot about making a better movie. I think the quality will go down with every chapter. I hope i'm proven wrong but oh well...
