epc no way they will do a mind wipe on lois and all that. there is no need for it. smallville is firmly its own thing. but it is deadshot, david. They cast deadshot and all that. Here is a photo i found of deadshot in the comics:

As with smallville doing costumes for various heroes and villains they make some changes. They probably just wanted to simplify his looks.

Lex's return to the series was much appreciated, Sure I'd love for Rosenbaum to return back later this season (And it looks like it going to become a reality) But I gotta say the actor they got to play and older version was freaking wicked and very much like comic book counterpart . That scene between him and Clark was so much better than the final confrontation in "Arctic" in the fortress. And in a twisted way Luthor was right Clark hasn't becoming the true Hero he was ment to be instead he's becoming a dark crusading viglianty . But thankfully by the end of the final season Clark will become Superman .

I'm still a little divided by the Lex clone. I'm rewatching his scenes now and while he played evil very well, it didn't seem like the same Lex that Rosenbaum spent 7 year creating. His speech sounded a little too Shakespearean when he was talking to Lois, and his body just moved around too much. But in the scene with Clark, he seemed more like the real Lex. Like the clone said, there can only be one Lex Luthor, and to me, he certainly wasn't him.

Jor-El was such an ass in this episode. I honestly don't know what he wants from Clark. He tells him to accept his destiny and become Earth's protector. Clark finally steps up and does that but all of a sudden Jor-El loses faith in him for being proud? **** you Jor-El!

...And another thing, give the damn suit back to Clark. :cmad:

There's a catch here with Jor-El's behavior. I didn't buy that. The dark we know who is messing with the fortress.

i have the thought that since we know darkseid doesnt have a solid form yet that maybe he took over the fos to trick clark sorta like brainiac did to the fos too.

Idk, part of his speech makes sense. He said the greatest threat is coming and prey on wavering souls, and it might control Clark if he doesn't fix himself on the inside first. I'll admit, the whole pride and darkness thing sort of felt like it came out of nowhere, but I can understand why Jor-El would want Clark to fix that first before he wears the suit and goes public.

But then again, the rest of the speech seems like it came out of nowhere. How he suddenly regrets sending Clark because he will never be the savior. That's not Jor-El speaking.

So, my guess is that kid clone Lex will age at just the right pace to be...oh...about Rosenbaum's age by next May?

Not sure what to make of the Darkseid/Fortress thing. Seems odd that Jor El would flip his lid, but I dunno.

All-in-all, this was good stuff.

It was awesome, when I saw Darkseid, I was like "oh hell yeah" lol, I loved every minute of it!!!:awesome::up:

Definately looked more like Vigilante than Deadshot, and to be honest id much rather see Vigilante. Though it would have been perfect if they cast Nathan Fillion to play him.

If it was Darkseid inhabiting the FOS, they would have given a more obvious hint. I think it was Jor-El just being a *****e.

maybe jorel is tired of clark? although he's really just a computer a.i., dont see how he could have feelings, but still. everything he's tried to do for clark, clark has been kicking and screaming. a parent can get frustrated. while clark did save people, he almost killed the clone. plus he said that the hero you are depends on how you deal with tragedy. so maybe it's another lesson where how can clark behave if he feels that he's disappointed jorel. you need to persevere.

Gotta feel bad for Clark. First Lana leaves him through a video because she wants him to move forward and become a hero without her holding him back (i disregard the retcon from one of her return episodes because they messed with everything that was happening at the point), and then Lois leaves him and tells him with a letter. Guy just can't catch a break.

I think Jor-El was testing him. I still believe that Jor-El loves his son and wants to see him embrace his destiny with all his heart and soul. But not before he overcomes his greatest trial (his own self and the darkness within his own heart), (Darkseid) etc...

The scene also was very effective because it shows the difference between how Jor-El and Jonathan Kent are going about modling and shaping Clark into becoming Superman .

I said this earlier, but it makes no sense for him to wear the red and blue combination as part of his normal attire since we saw back in season 8, he only wears it when he's saving people. So why go back to it now when he's going back to the red and blue alter-ego

The thing is, though, the whole "darkness within his heart" seems so out of the blue. What darkness? The guy isn't filled with hate. He's out there saving people and even risked taking his own life to save the planet. It seems like they added this "darkness" excuse to stretch the season rather than building up to it. If they had shown signs of it last season then I can understand.

But I agree with Kal-El about showing the difference between how Jonathan and Jor-El inspire Clark. Thank god for Jonathan coming back when he did.

That could be a possibility. I mean when he comes into the fortress telling Jor-El how he saved everyone, it sort of sounded like pride, and that he was bragging that he saved everyone even to his surprise. But then at the same time it reminds me of that extended scene from S:TM where he speaks to Jor-El after his first night as Superman and he sounds so excited and thrilled by what he did. Though there, Jor-El had to correct him and tell him to get the right mindset back.

and i agreed with it earlier :yay:but i thought i would post the pictures for those who didn't agree or wanted a better visual since not everyone may have recorded the episode lol. no biggie. but if you notice, it's not the traditional bright red, it's more of a sr red. very different than what the suit looks like on smallville. gotta say, the colors on the suit looked really good in the episode! this is a transition suit where it's a bit darker. not quite black, but still dark. probably by mid season is when he'll get another new suit that's brighter, and then the end where he gets his sr suit. thats my guess. or this maybe the one we get before the last suit.

well at the end of season 8 he wanted to give up being a human. he realized that he needed to have two identities but he leaned more on the kryptonian side. jor el wants him to know that he can't just be kryptonian. he needs to find a better balance. with the addition of darkseid who's extremely powerful, he needs to find a better place to overcome darkseids persuasion. he can't be this whiny guy who isn't confident. he needs to really believe that he's a symbol of hope and step into the light from out of the "dark-seid"

Yea there does seem to be a color difference, but I remember Clark's decision was to stop wearing it so people wouldn't suspect him as being the red-blue blur. So why change that now. Though I will say, at least it's a different blue jacket lol.

I've been saying all night, he took a blue-k blade to save humanity for crying out loud! That whole Jor-El scene was contrived bullcrap.

well this may not be a part of his normal attire. he's at the grave site of probably jon kent. he's talking to him telling him how he's going to try to make him proud and be that symbol of hope. "i'm ready for the next step". something like that. may be about to save someone.

Maybe Jor-El is still mad because Clark sacrificed himself and left Earth without him as opposed to sticking around and finding a better solution to defeat Zod. He wanted Clark to rule with strength, not give up the throne.

saved humanity but still not the symbol of hope that is needed to inspire others. it's been hinted at, but he's never done that. he was a lot closer last year than any other and did inspire the wonder twins, but he needs to inspire those without powers.

No I know, the stuff he's wearing at his father's grave is most likely his new blur outfit. But the red shirt, blue jacket thing he's wearing at the talon apartment is most likely normal attire.
