Speaking of the Lois and Clark show, was Clark ever exposed to Red K in the show and did he have the same effects like Clark in Smallville?

Yes Red-K was featured in L&C

In it's debut episode, It gave Superman an apathetic attitude and the longer he was exposed to it the worse it got.

In it's next episode it transferred his powers to Lois Lane after being focused through a laser beam.

In it's last appearance it uncontrollably supercharged his powers to it maximum potential.

Well sv did red k differently then the comics. In sv as we saw it effectec him on a emotional state. Were as comics and other media it had a vast difference in effects. I kinda wished sv did it like comics before. Would have made for some fun stuff they could have done.

At least Smallville was consistent with the Red K. It seemed like in Lois and Clark, Red K had a different side-effect each time it was used.

In the early comics because Red-K was originally created by Mr. Mxyzptlk it had magical properties that anytime Superman was exposed to it he'd experence various different side effects .

So in a way Lois & Clark : TAOS did remain faithful to the original source material. Once "Smallville" introduced it's own version of Red-K stripped of all of Clark's moral inhibitions, making him rebellious and potentially dangerous if exposed to it for too long (almost like he under the influence of too much alcohol, without the loss of physical capability.) that what it represent now in the comic continuity .

Didn't Superman 3 show similar effects? Or was it apathy? I remember Superman not caring and getting drunk...

He also did destructive things....straightened the leaning tower of Pisa, blew out the Olympic torch, and tore open an oil tanker because a pretty girl asked him to.

Yeah but the color of the Kryptonite was Green instead of Red.

I'm going to assume that where tptb on Smallville got their inspiration for Black Kryptonite and possible Red Kryptonite as well .

Yea from what I read early red k did have multi effects, like I said earlier post. Would have been fun if sv did that. Could have made for some funny/interesting effects.
