Episode 12 - "Godsend" - Discussion Thread

Did they use morphing during Niki's interrogation scene?
what do you mean?
It's also humanly impossible to wake up in a jump, like Mime Petrelli did - or almost every damn movie character just waking up from a nightmare.

I've woken up in jumps.:o

I was thinking of Nate flying Peter away too. I dunno how only Nate would die though b/c once they got a good distance away from Ted, Peter would not longer be invulnerable to the power.

Peter keeps the ability for a little while.

Last time when she changes from bad Niki to good Niki. It was so fast, it looked like an SFX. That, or Ali Larter is a better actress than I imagined.

I don't think there were any effects involved.

No you didn't. It's impossible. Muscles are too relaxed for you to wake up and SIT like that.

I've woken up like that when I was late for school. Granted, I was sorta half-awake, but still.:o :yay:

I thought it was hilarious when Hiro pulled out the sword and realized that it was a replica.

There didn't seem to be a change the way i remember it, but I'll try and rewatch it.

i doubt there was CGI. she just changed her facial expression.
it's really not that hard to change your expression in a quick manner if you've practiced it enough times.

which specific scene are you talking about?

The end of the scene with Niki and the attorney, when she reverts from Jessica back to Nikki "on-camera" (since then, the change was almost always after something big and black passed in front of her - and no, I'm not talking about Vision Dad).

I odn't think it was done with any kind of special effects. I think the "big black thing" that passed in front of Nikki was just showing the viewer that she was changing personalities.

i think there was at least some CGI along with her facial expression. cause i thought during some of the slower transitions, it seem that Niki "turned" into a darker shade or filter as Jessica.

that's lighting and doing color correction. not creating a CGI.

No, not that scene. The FIRST TIME WHEN SHE WENT FROM JESSICA TO NIKI ON CAMERA!!!!

CGI = computer generated image. the dinos in Jurassic Park is CGI. color correcting is computer color correcting.

they're not the same.:o

Well, both are made on computers.
So, technically, T-Rex, Niki and the Internet are the same thing.

but that still counts as special effects though, doesnt it? it not be any "real" big significance. but its still effects...

and i doubt those effects were done by studio lighting but more by computer.

I really liked how Nathan finally pulled his head out of his ass and decided to do the right thing for once instead of the PC thing. His conversation with Hiro was pretty entertaining, too :)

Milo Ventimiglia's really showing his acting chops too... even after spending the entire episode in a "coma", he still managed to steal the show with that horrifying scream at the end when he woke up.

DAMN, I can't wait for next week!

while we're on it, am I the only one who finds the transitions and converstions between Niki and Jessica sorta lame when it doesn't involve some reflecting surface?

no.
a T-Rex is created, Niki's lighting was changed/altered. difference.

effects do have a "real" big difference between them.
a sound effect is not the same as a visual effect.
