Loved the little shootout/chase sequence at the beginning and the stuff with Oz at the Funeral. The action sequences in this show have been pretty brief so far yet so damn satisfying.

Just goes to show you that you don't need a ridiculously HUGE budget to create well crafted, exciting set pieces although having strong writers, directors and great actors doesn't hurt either.

Also, Cristin Milioti is seriously killing it in this show. Her scenes with Farrell are so damn good and I'm betting her relationship with Theo Rossi's character is going to be really interesting.

Can't wait for the next episode.

Every scene with Oz and Sofia together, I can't look away.

I will say this after every episode until the TV/movie gods heed my prayers: Sofia must survive!!!

Vic and Oz are delightful to watch too.
A lot of shows with a character like Oz or Sofia would fall off when switching to other characters. But we're just bouncing back and forth between greatness.

This episode FLEW by. Every single character they've introduced is so captivating. Loved seeing all the chess moves Oz was making and how they're using Sofia is so brilliantly well done.

Yeah, I need to see her bounce off Selina/maybe even Batman too.

Not that it really factors into anything but with Cristin Milioti being a huge Batman fan, it would be great if she makes it out for the second movie.

Penguin is teaching Vic the game. Hopefully the kid listens or he won’t make it out the series. The unholy alliance with Penguin and Sofia begins. Sofia and Penguin are so vulnerable now that it will be interesting to see their power grow in the next 5 episodes until they have to destroy one and other. Gangster drama at it’s finest.

Another great episode. Sofia and Oz are so good together, I just can't wait for more of their interactions. I love how Oz is trying to be one step ahead all the time, but keep getting in some very dangerous situations anyway and has to make it out somehow.

I couldn't agree more. I need to see this iteration of Sofia interact with and bounce off of Selina in the films.

Honestly as much as I love The Long Halloween and Dark Victory, I will admit that I am incredibly shocked at just how much I really love Sofia as a character in this show. In the comics, I always thought of Sofia as an interesting villain with a cool design who ultimately didn't matter all that much in the long run of the Batman mythology.

But here in this show? Hooo boy, she's fantastic. I knew Cristin Milioti was going to do great, but she is absolutely stellar.

I still don't quite get the point of Victor, though. He doesn't really seem to need to exist on this show, particularly when we haven't seen him do anything other than work for the Penguin. It's kind of like if Henry Hill was just tagging along with Jimmy and Tommy in Goodfellas, and we never saw his home life or how he always wanted to be a gangster. I feel like they could kill him off and it would have no real impact on the story.

Just from episode 2 they kinda alluded to Victor's folks being still alive and well and they're looking for him.

He's the everyman of the story - an ordinary person thrust into the world of the extraordinary. We'll see in real-time what effect this sort of lifestyle has on an innocent soul (relatively speaking).

I am not optimistic about his chances based on what we've seen so far. Methinks he's the weak link that gets Oswald back in Sofia's sights.
