Episode 7. "Sacrifice'' review thread.

I think he was basing it on how Eric came to be, plus the fact that he'd been out in daylight numerous times & still wasn't in a litterbox.

I'm loving the urban and gritty look of Blade's flashbacks.

And Krista is quite an interesting character. Great insight on some of the vision abilities of a vampire.

That poses another question for me. Wouldn't Blade and Shen know about a Vamps ability to see the trip beams they had set up in their hideout? The lack of beams made it seem as though they (Blade and co) did a half ass job on their security system. Krista broke in and stole serum too easily.

What is Steppin Razor's story? I think I missed that part.

His origin was explained in a previous episode. He and Blade were in a gang together called the Bad Bloods as teenagers, hence why they both have the same set of tattoos on their neck/backs-they're gang tattoos. Young Blade bit the Bad Bloods and turned them into Vampires. Because Blade is hated throughout the Vampire community, all those who were bitten by him were hunted down by the various Vampire houses over the years in an attempt to exterminate them. The Bad Bloods had to go into hiding, and were shunned by the Vampire community-thus their and Steppin Razors hatred for Blade, who cursed them to this life.

Wow, that's an awesome backstory.

I'd review, but I'm still marvelling over Chase's ass...*drool*

That ass will be the highlight of the episode.:)

A bullet proof vest is designed to stop bullets, not sharp puncturing objects. Had the vest blade had also include plate armour then maybe it would not have stopped the sword. Also a rifle round will go through a bullet proof vest without plate armour like a hot knife through butter. Prison guards often where stab proof vests and not bullet proof vests.

I wish they kept Blade's nemesis around longer.

Okay, can someone explain to me why Blade hates his dad? His dad obviously never did anything bad to him. Blade's deep-seated hatred of the man, even going so far as to threaten to KILL him, just makes Blade look like kind of a dick.

I thought it was made pretty clear. He thought his dad was gonna give him to Whistler, when he'd said tehy'd work it out together

I'm talking about Blade as an adult, though. I mean, obviously he knows that being with Whistler was a great thing for him in the end, so... while that argument would certainly hold water for the freak-out little Eric had, grown-up Blade's threat to kill dad and claim that Deacon Frost is his real father (!!!) was pretty... insane.

It's not far fetched. Adults who have been adopted as children often have feeling of resentment towards their birthparents. Even if they have lived great lives with adopted families, an underlying feeling of rejection may still persist.
Blade isn't exactly the most well adjusted (half) human being. While Whistler was a great mentor, Blade obviously never felt he was a replacement for his Dad. Then Blade learns that his Dad survived but never made contact with him for like 30 years? It kind of makes sense that he would be angry.

OK, I fully realize that I'm going to get endlessly flamed for this but I think that scene is going too far. It's one thing to show a thong but it's another to show a completely naked woman on a cable show. I know it's an adult themed show and kids shouldn't be watching anyway but cable isn't Cinemax. I hope they don't go any farther with the nudity.

Alright...I'm ready of for the heat.:)

You Mutha-*BLEEP*in' prude!! Why don't you go to mutha-*BLEEP*in' church and leave us heathens the *BLEEP* alone?!?!!?

(kidding!)

I don't know, once NYPD Blue opened the door to bare asses on network TV, I haven't been concerned much with what the basic cable shows do. I doubt they'll show boobings tips, though. I'd say that's still a good five years away.

Now, back to admiring the luminous white skin of Chase's buttocks!:)

I'm surprised Spike is allowed to do this, considering how much they edited the Blade movie.

Wtf? What happened to "I found him on the street, feeding on the homeless" version of Whistler and Blades meeting?

..btw, cool to see how Whistler gets his trademark limp though!

I agree WTF? Did anyone notice in the deleted scenes of BLade 2 when Whistler found Blade on the street did he have the limp already?

No, I don't drink but I could be flying on endorphins from having both Blade and the NFL back on the air.:)

I always thought that basic cable needs to stay away from nudity. There are only about 5,000,000,000 websites, books, channels and videos for people that want to see it.:)

Well it's a deleted scene, so it doesn't count.

However, we do see Old "Kris Kristofferson" Whistler finding Blade on the street during the intro of Blade II! I guess he found him later on, after he ran away from the scene at the end of the episode?

It's not that easy to bring in rationality where high emotions are at play. Blade was locked in his room. Handcuffed to concrete slabs. Attacked to a blood drip. He wasn't allowed to leave the house. He didn't have a great childhood, and he thought his parents wanted to sell him out. He will have carried this with him for much of his childhood. He can't just let go of that.

NO Chase-hatin' here, mister!! But I do agree, where are da sistas at?!?!? I always appreciated the first film's female lead being black, and furthermore, someone who was incredibly intelligent, and ultimately capable of handling herself physically. N'Bushe Wright was a slam beast with that shotgun! She can't be that busy that she can't reprise her Karen Jensen role, can she? At this point, I just want the character to make an appearance, regardless of who's playing her.

Oh, yeah. Didn't notice the "Nubian GodDESS" subtitle. Sorry!

Great Episode.... I can't wait for characters and events that goyer promised would happen, happens....

1. Other monsters besides vampires, such as werewolves
2. That black girl from the first movie, doctor...........
3. Hannibal King......

plus, I got a feeling that krista is going to become bad at the end of this season, and give up blades location and plans....
